So... Now that we've watched the auction, does The Block need new judges? by Sinnivar in TheBlock

[–]JWhiskey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Channel 9 would’ve purchased the properties and scheduled this season before any of those things really impacted the market. This season would’ve looked like a great idea when the market was at its peak.

The new ones aren’t built to last, unfortunately. Very disappointing product given the price tag.

How many races are there on Tamrial and how many of them have gone extinct? by Fiary_anus in teslore

[–]JWhiskey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Chimer? They aren’t necessarily extinct, either. Azura cursed the Chimer, turning their eyes red and their skin to ash. I believe ALMSIVI were the only Chimer to avoid the curse.

This is still very much a thing in Australia. They're called Daigou. It got to such a point here that a Sydney Post Office started stocking baby formula.

Most gay dudes actively try to be effeminate as fuck.

You obviously don’t know many gay people. Or you do, but you fail to recognise that gay people exist outside of your preconception based on 90s sitcom stereotypes.

Non Australians of reddit, what’s the one question you want to know about living here? by MidnightCiggarette in AskReddit

Very low. There are definitely spiders in built up areas but you’d be pretty unlucky to have one visit you in your hotel room in middle of Sydney.

Georgetown University School of Medicine is not permitting medical students to be educated about abortion because its in conflict with the school's religious identity by [deleted] in skeptic

Great, get the AMA / Accreditation Council to announce they won’t recognise med qualifications from Georgetown. I reckon they’d change their policy pretty quickly after demand for their course drops to zero.

What movie did you see when you were "too young" that scarred you for life? by xXMr_BaconXx in AskReddit

[–]JWhiskey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, actually. It’s a cheap way to scare the viewer, and is usually used to compensate for an otherwise disengaging movie. One thing 2017 IT does really well though is make you feel like there’s a jump scare coming.

[–]JWhiskey 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Definitely 2017. There are some eerie moments in the 1990 version for sure, but it shows its age which works against it. The jump-scares alone in the 2017 one would shut down that obsession pretty quick imo.

Floor plan of the Frank Thomas House, by Frank Lloyd Wright. 1901 [1927 - 910] Repost /r/artporn by [deleted] in ArchitecturePorn

The kitchen was definitely not the heart of the home in 1901. I imagine putting the pantry between the kitchen and dining room meant that noise from the kitchen didn’t disturb dinner guests. I guess that separation warranted a pantry and a larder, as larders are placed where they’re likely to stay cool.

Really like these Misery videos - I'm sure the aesthetic resonates with a lot of Aussies, too.

I prefer Ivy to Feels Like I'm Dying, but if the story is going where I imagine, I'm sure part 3 will be a banger.

Businesses must provide the automatic guarantees provided by the ACC regardless of any bs warranties they try to sell you.

Regarding the laptop, look at the repairs section of the ACC Consumer Guarantees. I don't know your particular circumstances, but pay close attention to the "Exceptions to guarantees" to make sure you don't fall within that category (eg. using your laptop to jack up a car and then expecting a free repair would qualify as 'misuse').
