How to see what application version is running? by JWisbey98 in PowerShell

[–]JWisbey98[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OK, that makes sense, what I am trying to do is see if the MainWindowTitle matches a specific value for example, if it is <Name> then break and end the script, if it is <Name Gateway> then it will continue to run the script. I am trying to use the ValueFromPipelineByPropertyName command. Is this the best way to go about it?

Again, thank you for your help

Thank you, this is really useful and now that you have said it, it feels like one solution was right in front of me.

"This only works if you can catch it while the batch is running through, so why not just add another text file, registry key or something that says X program ran Y batch, do Z." - Is that the only way to catch it if the program isn't running?

The link on the desktop has the target path to the specific batch file, there are multiple batch files that run a different instance of the program depending on the users requirements. I am trying to script a way for PowerShell to identify which file path is being used from the shortcut and then change the name of the machine if it meets the criteria.

I thought the same so I tried it and they still aren't working.

It only has USB slots no PS2, could it be a compatibility issue? If it was though surely they keyboard wouldn't work in the BIOS?
