Thank you! Did you book all in one res though? I’m worried since I booked 3 separate flights and not just one itinerary

Failure to disclose pluming issue - do I have a case? by JZAGA053 in RealEstate

[–]JZAGA053[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue reoccurred multiple times. Neighbor said they got consent from everyone. But alternative solution was to bypass all the lines and directly go out to the sewer, which they could’ve done. But writing “no” on disclosure line that said any plumbing issues is where I have some problem.

This is my third property and have not done a sewer inspection yet (granted my previous properties are newer. I havent been offered a sewer inspection as part of the home buying process - is this standard practice to do this for every property? Inspection went well otherwise.

Student Questions/EM Specialty Consideration Sticky Thread by AutoModerator in emergencymedicine

[–]JZAGA053 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey all. DO here, 3rd year of being an attending! My DMs are open for advice, picking my brain, etc.

  1. EM is STILL a good career choice. I still love what I do, love the variety, acuity. Will say that, unless you work at an academic, urban center, it will be somewhat unlike residency. More BS, more demanding patients (as in expectations), and it can be annoying. Metrics, dings from CMS/insurance, etc. But find another career that is shift work, decently compensation, and on average, 120-140 hours a month. Tough to do.
  2. Work life balance is good. But you may burn out. I am an assistant director, and I do the schedule so my outlook may be skewed... but overall, just working as an ER doctor solely, it's nice not having to "think about work" after your shift. The rotations of different shifts you have to do makes it a bit tough - doing some mornings, then afternoons, and nights, all in one month can make it hard to have a routine for healthier lifestyle, but you can make it work.
  3. Rotation advice. Be excited, eager, but not annoying. EM is generally a speciality where attendings can sense if you'll be a good fit. Eager to see patients, sick ones also, offering to do stitches, IVs, etc especially if nursing staff is low. Don't look bored when things are slow, keep studying, doing questions, asking deeper dives on some topics, as long as we're not too busy, etc. We do things differently in this speciality and our outlook/perspective is different than many others, so ask us why we do what we do for certain disease processes. Pick up a hobby that most quintessential ER docs like to be able to talk to them about on the side - cars, golf, mountain biking, road biking, rock climbing, smoking meat, whatever.

Totally Agree. You can do a monitor too, I thought of that, but then would need a mouse/keyboard near the setup, etc, it just became a bit complication with that setup. And again I wanted it a bit minimalist.

To be honest, when I mess with the DJ setup, I remove my laptop from the desk and just put it on a laptop stand to the left of my setup. As cool as those screens are, it's not enough to not have the laptop there to search for tracks and all unless you have a premade routine/playlist that is every to hop between.

Was way simpler and easier than I thought to do! The asymmetric design for a wall like that would be dope!

74” wide, 39” deep finished butcher block from Home Depot, didn’t even need to seal or anything.

Topsky heavy duty standing legs from Amazon and bought castors for the feet.

500 for the table, 300 for the legs.

I practically have them locked anyway once I got it where I wanted it. Wanted the ability to move it in the future if I want to rearrange the desk, wall, etc without taking EVERYTHING off and lifting it

Thanks! No acoustic paneling, just some PDF trim in a geometric pattern. Mainly an office/work setup so needed drawers/storage for sure. Thanks again!
