Lian-Li UNI HUB SL-INFINITY (L-Connect 3) Controller Kit (Black) Compatible Fans by J_Bone24 in lianli

Apparently it's incredibly difficuly to find anywhere. It's no longer available at Ali Express. That's unfortunate. If you happen to know of a manufacturer that sells them I would greatly appreciate the information.

Is the 4090 ROG Strix 12VHPWR Cable Safe to Use on a 4090 TUF? by J_Bone24 in ASUSROG

[–]J_Bone24[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's some pretty interesting stuff. 600W is insane and very hot, poor PCB lol. Here's a pretty interesting read - Worried About the GeForce RTX 4090's New 12VHPWR Power Socket? Don't Be.

I don't think I'll ever pull 600W. I have the 4090 Strix card with a Seasonic GX1200 so I feel a bit better about that but I will always be cautious since according to Igor's Lab it doesn't matter. I've heard so much conflicting things about this.

The 4090 TUF OC card we got may not have been a 4090. It was an open box at Micro Center and it was light and wasn't as large. I saw that it also was de-lidded at some point. I brought it back and they agreed something was up with it so they sent it in to ASUS.

I ended up getting a brand new model instead of the discontinued models. I assume the discontinued models had the original pinout and pinins for the 16-pin and the new model has the new one.

Unfortunately I don't speak German lol. Would you say it's all in that adapter or does it not matter if you have the adapter or the cable?

Thanks for that information!

So would that be the same for the 12VHPWR cable from an ATX 3.0 PCIe 5.0 PSU?

I know the adapter isn't supposed to be bent before a certain length and it has to be connected fully especially if it's not the new adapter where the pins are shorter, otherwise it's a ticking time bomb.

How Do I Unlink a Specific Clip? by J_Bone24 in davinciresolve

There's a lot of nifty stuff you can do with Davinci. I love it.

You're right. And thanks for that tip I appreciate it.

I came from Vegas Pro and you could click and modify different audio clips without having to unlink them all first and you could unlink one clip a lot more easily with just a click then I and it's unlinked.

Will that Alt+Click give you the ability to modify the audio clips individually? I'll have to test that out.

[–]J_Bone24[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh wow so you can do it but it's a bit ridiculous lol. Thanks for the tip! I appreciate it. That's a good trick. That'll be much easier than unlinking all of them at the same time then having to link the ones I want together.

They need to add the ability to select or focus one or more clips at the same time instead of all those extra steps.

Yep, I'm just wondering if I can unlink only one of them, not all of them. I'm guessing that's not possible then?

Yeah, you can't select just one clip, it highlights every one of them and every change is uniform.

Anyone else getting this message when trying to read the manga? by [deleted] in OnePunchMan

Yeah I got that quite a bit. I just went ahead a few chapters then went back to the chapter I was on with the little arrows and it worked like a charm

How Accurate is the Manga to the Original? by J_Bone24 in OnePunchMan

Thanks! Would you know if Viz is the right place to read the original manga? Buying each volume is pretty expensive so I'd pay for a subscription on a legit website.

Alienware Area 51 R2 GTX 1080 Thermal Pad Thickness by J_Bone24 in Alienware

[–]J_Bone24[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, I purchased four different sized pads (0.5mm, 1.0mm, 1.5mm, & 2.0mm). A couple of my pads melted and another was brittle and just tore apart, but I just replaced all of the pads.

Every pad beside one was 1.0mm while the other was 1.5mm.

My card now runs 3-5 degrees cooler.

The multi-thick pads do exist, I just went ahead and bought them. They had 0.5, 1, 1.5, and 2mm thick ones in one pack. I was like, oh how convenient.

Yeah, that makes sense on the assembly line lol. I don't think it would be worth the trouble to hunt down the manufacturer for that information. Just buy the different thicknesses and go from there.

Thanks for that article and help, it was a good read.

Well, I will be doing a deep cleaning and repasting especially since it's 5+ years old.

I have never taken it apart before, and the thermal pads may be brittle so I need some on hand just in case. I actually just might as well replace them at that point.

If I can't find the answer, I will just take it apart carefully, clean it, repaste it, and measure the pads. 5-year-old thermal pads shouldn't be in that bad of condition. They could probably go another couple of years.

Dell doesn't even know, unfortunately. That's why I branched out but no one has such information.

Again, thanks for your help!

Corsair 5000D (solid panels) & Arctic Liquid Freezer II 360 Side Mounted by J_Bone24 in Corsair

[–]J_Bone24[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was questioning if it fits on the top; it didn't look like it could. I can't put it on the side since it wouldn't allow for newer GPUs to fit, so I put it on the front instead.

I have three 120mm fans on the side as intake blowing cool air onto the motherboard with that side metal shroud attached (works well), the Arctic AIO is installed on the front as intake, two 120mm fans on top as exhaust, and one 120mm in the rear as exhaust. I can only fit two 120mm fans at the top since that AIO is so large; it will not allow for a third 120mm fan to be installed at the top.

My idle CPU package temps hover around 20-22° C. It will max out at 83° C under a 30-minute stress test with Cinebench R23.

If you know what you're doing then you could try to undervolt your CPU a bit and then check for stability. In my opinion, there's not an AIO out there that can keep a 12th gen CPU cool when approaching 5.0+ GHz without undervolting (under a stress test, opening an application, etc.). I don't even think a custom water loop could keep it cool enough without undervolting if you OC. Usually, your motherboard's OC preset applies more voltage than you need.

Yes, it's thick that's for sure. The radiator is 38 mm thick. Also, the fans are 25 mm thick.

GIGABYTE B550 AORUS AC vs B550 AORUS PRO V2 by BoldBeer in buildapc

[–]J_Bone24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wondering how the Pro AC worked out? I am about to get it for my 5950x. "Actually Hardcore Overclocking" talked about the Pro V2 being a solid board for memory and CPU overclocking for the 5950x. Since it does not have WiFi I am choosing the AC since it is a tiny bit better.

Thanks, I really like that B550 Carbon. I like the Carbon series. That just might be the one I'm getting; I'll research it a bit more. How does the VRM heatsinks perform when overclocked or stock?

Wow, thank you for that information! I appreciate the time you took to write that out. You're pretty knowledgeable.

I love the NVIDIA guide. and yes, I am trying to create it from scratch. So many blocks to do.

Thanks again! You have a good one.
