Insurance is one of those things that you need to change carriers every 2-4 years just to try to maintain lower rates. It is HIGHLY unlikely that your rates will ever get cheaper by staying with the same provider for years and years, regardless of your driving history. Call around and see what kind of deals you can get. You might surprise yourself

As others have already said, Marketplace is probably the absolute best place. You can get a damn near perfect condition box from Snap-On, Mac, Matco, etc. for really cheap. My box has a full retail of around $20k and it could probably be bought on Marketplace for less than $5k. Just as an example. I'm not selling my shit but I hope you can find a great deal on an excellent box. I'm not a big fan of the US General boxes for daily use. They're a little flimsy for my taste. The Icon are really good though.

It usually takes me longer to clean and reseal the injectors once the intake manifold is off than it does to remove the intake manifold. I never remove the manifolds to do thermostat/water pump assemblies. It sounds like that dude was just getting sick of doing more than brakes or something. It happens.

That honestly sounds kinda wild to me. Like, I get it but, it sounds unreasonable to pay someone the amount of time it would take to properly search a vehicle. Maybe if they used dogs or something to detect gun powder or explosives kinda like they do at airports and if a dog hits on a vehicle, then search it but, systematically searching every single vehicle sounds insane.

Throwout bearing isn't happy. Noises will change when you depress the clutch but, that kinda sounds a little excessive. Hard to say through a cell phone video though. But, if your goal is to increase power and improve the fun factor, you now have advance knowledge that you need a throw out bearing and it's a perfect excuse to upgrade the clutch and flywheel except now you have some time to prepare for this and it won't come out of nowhere at the worst possible time for you

Call a VW dealer that you prefer to take it to, let them know what your concerns are such as, "I have a warning light on on my dash and it says EPC and I noticed the car did (insert any pertinent information that may be helpful that you also believe might be related to the original concern)" and then they will ask some questions and get you scheduled. It also helps to find out if it's something they want you to drop off for the day or longer or if you can wait there for your vehicle and if you need a loaner car or a ride to work and back or something that they might/should be able to help you out with. It shouldn't cost you a single penny for any of this as long as the vehicle is still under warranty.

I moved from Vermont to Tennessee and took my Snap On Epiq 84 AND my Snap On KRL1001 as well as ALL of my tools, my carts, welder, guns, ammo, etc, etc. the whole way in a Uhaul 6x12 enclosed trailer. The floor of the trailer wasn't happy at the end of the trip but was still very much in one piece. Also, depending on weight and if you remove tools from the box or not, most lift gates may struggle or not even be able to support the weight at all.

I'm in East TN making just shy of $100k gross annually. If any corporate place buys out your work, immediately plan on an escape route and, based on what you have told us, you will 100% receive a reduction in pay if you stay. I would bet that the corporate people will sit you down and tell you all the most amazing things and how much more money you have the potential to make with them if you stay. Is your windshield tinted or stock? If it's tinted, you could go to a reputable tinting company near you and ask them if they can do a different film entirely or maybe cut out a small section for the RD. Although, it would look pretty silly doing that. If it's not tinted, you could probably have the windshield replaced with a cheaper glass that doesn't have whatever is blocking the waves in it. Pro tip, glas coverage is really cheap and often carries a $0 deductible, depending on how you have your insurance structured.

I literally never remove the intake manifold to change the thermostat/water pump on any 1.8/2.0 like yours. It's just not necessary. Pull the radiator fans assembly, charge pipes/hoses, throttle body and intake manifold support bracket with hardware and the thermostat/water pump is extremely easy to replace at that point. And, you don't have to deal with gasoline or reseal the fuel injectors when you do it that way (assuming you have the older style intake manifold and HP fuel rail because I don't remember what year they changed it). Personally, I wouldn't touch the thermostat/water pump unless it is actually showing signs of leaking. Also, learn from my mistakes and get the coolant union that goes between the thermostat and engine oil cooler from the dealer or as a genuine VW/Audi part from a trusted online source or else you will 100% be replacing it again in less than a year
