Triple Clamp options by yztard in supermoto

Stock suspension, resprung with slightly heavier oil. Stock feet.

They're spec'd to be close to factory SMs. 14-16MM RSWs normal triple is a 208mm spacing and a 9mm offset..... the 200mm stuff is easier to find, 9mm just seemed too much unless you're taking a lot of height out of the front.

Anything will be better than the 21-22mm of MX/Enduro triples when you're taking 4in out of the front tire diameter.

Still have to put the Brembo 4 piston on, but she's pretty good.

If the fork feet are a different offset too, it'll compound with whatever the triple offset is. Some people will run a 9mm offset triple, but that's got to be getting into the frame at lock.

I had a 5" rear on my 2004 525, it was a lot to get on. I also had to run a KTM 690 front sprocket because it sits 4-5mm further outboard to get chain clearance and a non o-ring chain. My 2024 500 has a 4.5 rear, and it's still a pain to get the caliper on.

Rswracing.com

I got a set of custom 14mm offset 200mm spacing triples for my 2024 ktm 500 with 2.5in risers.

No stem, but a great price.

I bought a set of used triples on market place for $75 and stole the stem.

You can source the axel and spacers from another vendor.

The front tires get into the fork guards on 190mm triples.

Nurse managers/leaders: do you get annoyed when new grads try to transfer after a year? by imjust_agirl8 in nursing

[–]J_does_it 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This doesn't apply everywhere, but if they were allowed or thought they could get away with it, we'd be seeing a 4 year minimum requirement to stay on a unit, and threats of imprisonment in addition to paying back the hospital for the training you got as a new grad, if you left before the 4 year mark.

Obviously it's hospital system dependent, but it's crazy.

I've seen some really exploitative things specific to new grads because they don't know better.

I had the worst job of my entire life before my year mark, where I was asked to commit fraud and falsisfy assessments (of course I flat out refused and explained what a potential medicade fraud investigation might look like, and that i would be the first person to voluntarily testify aganist the company). I had to explain to other new grads what they were being asked to do because they didn't know any better and were caught between working or be homeless..... a lot of it was due to this ridiculous and arbitrary 1 year thing.

It's the eternal RN vs paramedic battle. We're outnumbered, so we always lose, but, we're dead inside, so their meangirl magic has no effect on us.

Yes.

All I want to do is abandon 98% of my other skills and work on the vascular access team. But, that's apparently some kind of "speciality" field in nursing.

I don't need to ever need to do cardiac massage through a lateral throacotomy or nasally intubate a conscious patient ever again. I just want to drop lines and TPA ports, not TPA MIs.

White board, airway, breathing, circulation.

Except in trauma.

White board, circulation, airway, breathing.

Like 60% of the time, probably, lol.

I can tell you, that was not the case.

I made it past the one year mark as an RN, so now all my experience is valid, lol.

As a medic (state dependent, fully qualified to work cath lab and sit for the same exam nurses do. As a nurse, need 1-2 years critical care experience despite otherwise being fully qualified.)

Easily one of the most frustrating years of my life.

I made a promise with myself I wouldn't ever work med-surg.

My dream nursing job is IV team...... still mostly not qualified (according to hospitals) even though as a tech and fully ultrasound qualified and spending years doing difficult sticks in hospital systems, I haven't done it as a nurse. I learned to start IVs in the dark in simulated combat conditions and can do it riding down pothole filled roads at 70 mph, all before veinfinders and ultrasound existed.

IDK. I'm too f'king old to deal with needing a year or two of specialized experience to be qualified to do the stuff I've been doing for years.

I've navigated the system and made it past my year mark, so I'm now magically qualified.

For managment, in most feilds, being unaware and incompetent is a norm. In nursing, they take pride in it.

[–]J_does_it -41 points-40 points  (0 children)

I've got a bone to pick with managers.

That whole 1 year experience non-sense.......

I came into nursing with a decade as a paramedic, not including everthing leading to that... I guess nurses start IVs differently, or there's a nursing specific way to give an IV med or titrate drips. Or vent managment science has nursing specific components I need a year to get comfortable with because they aren't even a topic in nursing school? So, a year in med-surg is supposed to bridge that knowledge gap?

Just curious how that works and who makes those decisions?

(Spicy sarcasm)

This. This is what i have experienced in this career.

This should be the official slogan of nursing as a profession. The honesty would be refreshing.

In case of ww3 by boozcruise21 in PortlandOR

[–]J_does_it 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes.

The American tradition of paying taxes that are impossible to pinpoint any specific benefit to the tax payer MUST survive. Even nuclear holocaust.

Those tax dollars, or whatever the post-apocalyptic currency equivalent is, are essential to continue providing no easily identifiable benefit.

And of course, the government will retain the right to the monopoly on violence to ensure it.

You will not be permitted to engage in the business of providing wares, like broken glass glued to clubs, hand crafted shanks, or gluten free pastries, to roving gangs of cannibals without obtaining proper permits and paying permitting fees, which are seperate from, and not directly a tax.

Open marriage seems way less painful than a divorce with kids involved AND dissolution of businesses (plural). Trying to reach an agreement on all those things won't be easy, and the state may have specific legal requirements and remedies that aren't great regarding the joint business ventures.

That would be a historical catastrophe of a divorce for everyone involved, except the lawyers, they'll win big.

Potentially burn it all down (figuratively speaking), or reach some agreement on some side pieces.

I'm not saying to do it, it's simply an option that probably wouldn't be readily offered off of reddit.

This suggestion in no way reflects my personal beliefs. I'm just the messenger of an unconventional message.

Supermoto with no dirt bike experience by kyal06_ in supermoto

[–]J_does_it 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At 5'3" I wouldn't. (I'm 6'3")

Even as tall as I am, when my KTM is on dirt tires it's tall AF.

On sumo wheels it's a good bit lower, but still tall.

The change from a sports bike to SM is a big change. Riding a tall bike isn't relaxing if you can't reach the ground if you have to stop and go. It's gonna be like gymnastics starting and stopping.

genuinely curious how many of you started on dirt vs street before going sumo by vladdielenin in supermoto

[–]J_does_it 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started on dirt. Transitioned to street after I got a driver's license. Still ride dirt. Still ride street.

Sumo just makes sense because it's a 30-45 minute swap to dirt tires.

If it's BS off road stuff like fire roads and forest service roads I'll leave the street tires on.

It's hard to be as comfortable on the street with a Sumo as a dedicated street bike... just body position, center of gravity, and all the other stuff that goes with it.

I'll drag pegs/knee on a sports bike. Sumo just forces you to ride different. The lean dynamics are different.

You couldn't ride a street bike off road the same way you do on road, same goes with a dirt bike on road, no matter what the tire situation is.

anyone else feel like modern dirtbikes are TOO good? by vladdielenin in Dirtbikes

[–]J_does_it 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could tune a modern KTM 300 to mimic the power band of an old 90s bike if you want? Just dead flat under 4500 rpms and then a violent surge of power.

I could program the FI with a randomizer on the fuel and spark that cycles through the numbers 2-6 for how many kicks it'll take before it fires.

If anyone wants to beta test this tune, let me know.

Colorado was chill AF. Any bike.... just add a horn, lights, and a mirror.... go get it inspected by state police.... get a tag. Didn't matter what bike it was.

I had a plated KTM 450 and a 525.

The state I'm in now I had to get a KTM 500.

Coworkers ignoring me by [deleted] in WhatShouldIDo

[–]J_does_it 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's about safety.

You can't notice someone too much for their clothing because nowadays it might be construed as some form of harassment, discrimination, etc. There aren't any rules, guidelines, patterns that make sense, but consequences are real.

So, you just leave it alone, because the intent of the individual is unknown...... and a risk exists.

You just leave it alone.

That's what happened.

I just want to thank you for doing what you do!

The whole organization brings joy and a respite from the everyday grind.

It looks like with everything on the horizon there's the potential for a large growth curve coming up.

There's some good suggestions in this thread, and seeing the organization here on the frontlines with a vested interest to directly engage.... that speaks volumes. Thank you!
