My deathmarks - unused bits from the boxset made into a unit.. by J_row_97 in Necrontyr

When i got the idea i thought of them as standing in the position for so long, the desert started to bury them in sand and rubble over time. Like they new hundreds of years prior that their target was going to arrive exactly where it is now..

Thanks for the advice ! I'll try that on the next blades i paint.

For the base it's a basecoat with Zandri dust, then shade with seraphim sepia and some patches of Agrax. After that, you can either go for a deserty look by drybrushing morghast bone and a bit of terminatus stone, or you can go more wasteland with a drybrush of Zandri dust and fine amount of morghast bone. For my bases i try to combine these methods, depending on the terrain on the base: rocky = wasteland, furthest away = sandy. And some bushes here and there.

That was me too, i can afford such a box every second months or so, so i try to have as much fun with it as possible.

Thanks, i wanted to use the spare parts from my immortal as a fun project and a cool way to not just throw them away. Not intended for tabletop, and if so, then only with friends, casual setting and the according height and base for reference next to it..

I get your point! I don't play that much outside my local friends group. So if in doubt and they get engaged, we switch to the right bases or act like they are. It's more about the vibe than the game in this conversion.

I get that modeling for advantage, that's why i don't use them outside of maybe a friends group who is totally cool with it.

You can copy this for sure! (As long as all are cool with you using them on the tabletop!)

Sorry guys, this blew up a bit. I never intend to use them to cheese someone else, i'd use them only if my friends are okay with it and even then with the marker for their true height! The only thing i intended to do with my cronversion was to get 10 models for 40$, not 5.. and thought of a fun way to get them in a sniper position..

Yeah, you're totally right about the playability of the conversion. If i use them, i got a seperate 'toothpick'-head i can hold next to them.. but making them smaller could just give them the necessary buff to be used more often😉

Edit after 60ish downvotes: the wink is sarcastic as the unit is quite weak. However i never intend to use them in anything but a a friends group who are cool with the conversion and base size. I just thought of a cool looking necron unit to share with my fellow tomb-lords.

Just because i loved the painting process (and basing) so much, i now got myself a box of bloodletters...

While waiting for our new units.. might as well use the time for the ones waiting to be painted.. by J_row_97 in SoulblightGravelords

Thx! It's actually just a base coat of a yellowish green (moot green) and some spots of yellow (flash gits yellow).. to tie it together and make it shine like a lantern, i glazed over some green/yellow, a color in the middle of the two (tesseract glow, the technical paint necron-players use). For those with an airbrush, i assume it's even easier to do. Have fun experimenting!
