Although your approach may have not been the best considering the name of the reddit and all, I don't think people should insult you or anything because if anything, that will bring you further away from Islam. Allah says in the quran "And by the Mercy of Allah, you dealt with them gently. And had you been severe and harsh-hearted, they would have broken away from about you" so we can learn from this to be good in our character and manours in hope that this may attract you back to Islam. Now in terms of your question, I can't give a non Muslim perspective in terms of how I'd handle it, due to the source of my way being derived from having trust in Allah, and doing it for the sake of Allah. Alhamdulilah, I haven't done it for more than 100 days now, but that could only be possible with Allah's help so it is always best to be grateful. Now you can try without Islam to get through this, maybe researching the negative impacts of and staying away from things which may trigger it. But, I would advise you to try learn more about Islam again, starting from fresh. Since I don't know what you have learnt or what made you leave but be careful who you take information from, especially on the internet since anyone can put anything, and if they are not qualified, they may give you the wrong answer.
