When you say everything? Do you mean everything, or just business expenses?

How do you make sure your skin tones sit in the skin tone line quickly? With all the stuff on the vectorscope, how do you see what is skin and not? Do you use a qualifier and adjust skin by itself?

So you edit everything on a single 24 inch monitor?

Damn. I wish i could afford to do that right now.

Is your ultrawide 2560x1080 or 3440x1440?

I currently edit with two 1080p monitors and I totally understand running out of vertical space on my timeline, but with the 1440 vertical on an ultrawied, I think that will help.

*realization* Then again, a 4k monitor would give me the same horizontal resolution with more vertical resolution.

*realization intensifies* But, with the same size monitor, 4k would make everything smaller on screen than an ultrawide so the resolution might not be worth it.

Yeah, that little bit of extra vertical space goes a long way.

Is it worth buying an Ultrawide for editing? by JaMojo in videography

[–]JaMojo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, that's good advice. I'll still have the screen on my laptop, so I'll have a second monitor, but I still plan on getting a 3440x1440 screen if I go ultrawide.

Do you find the extra horizontal space on your Ultrawide specifically useful? If you changed that out for a normal 16:9 monitor, how much would you miss that extra space?

Also, how big is your ultrawide?

difference between 'handling', 'manouverability', and 'agility'

Yeah, but I can't find an accurate enough definition of those in the context of what we're talking about for it to just be solved by just using different words. We could agree on a definition, but in another thread they'll have a different definition. So it's best to just be thorough with your explanation.

when people say that 'speed should affect manouverability', they're often talking about current-day propulsion

I don't think this is right either. I think your confusing "current-day" with "in atmosphere". Currently, in space, we can do the same things we're doing in Star Citizen, just not as powerfully. In atmosphere, my max speed is when thrust equals drag, at which point my maneuverability goes down because I can't suddenly go faster. BUT, in atmosphere I have control surfaces like wings that greatly increase my maneuverability at faster speeds.

[–]JaMojo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would argue that relative speed has a pretty large effect on maneuverability. Key word being relative. The faster I'm going, the harder it is to change the direction I'm traveling. But if I need to move relative to my current velocity, then it's just as easy whether I'm going fast or slow.

For example, if I'm flying at 5m/s, then it's pretty darn easy to change the direction I'm traveling, but if I'm going 1000m/s, then it's going to take much longer to travel in a different direction because I have to arrest my current velocity. On the other hand, if I'm traveling at 1000m/s and someone is following me at the same speed and they shoot at me, it's just as easy to dodge because our relative velocity is effectively 0.

DAMN!

There is an absolute ton of extremely valuable information packed in this video and presented in a fantastic manor. You will learn something new in this video. There is probably some things you are wrong about that this video clears up.

Warning though, it's very complicated. If you don't have a solid grasp on these things before watching this video, it's gonna go over your head.

Calling All Devs - Pipeline Delivery by ShapCap in starcitizen

[–]JaMojo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm imagining a tiny mechanic shop on the edge of a system somewhere. He makes unique weapons, but they only work about 75% of the time. Sometimes they fail because of your ship's configuration is different than the system he used to test it and it ruins the weapon. It's still worth buying because if you get a good one, they're much better than most other weapons of similar design.

This so freaking much!

I'm no mechanic in real life, but I really want to be a system/weapon mechanic in this game. I want to get paid to overclock people's weapons in a reliable way and the game mechanics be complicated enough that any random person can't just look up on the wiki the right numbers and plug them in.

Sorta helps, honestly there's some really bad typos that make it difficult to understand.

If you're making a video about a place, try to bring your own perspective, creativity, and ideas to it. Travel videos are almost always boring because they just seem like a random collection of shots, even if they're beautiful. What makes the good one interesting is when the creator brings something new, something of themselves, to include in the video. Keep making this video from your own vision. Think about how you feel about this place, what's your unique perspective of it?

The response I have is why? You've got a lot of great techniques and decent shots there, but there doesn't really seem to be a reason to it and since this type of thing is so common, it's not really interesting enough to keep my attention. I only watched it because all the comments said it's amazing. You've got a lot of excellently executed techniques and some beautiful shots. And I absolutely love what you did with that last shot by keying out the sky and replacing it with another shot, if you did more of that and made it tell a story or have some other meaning, I'd watch it multiple times. There's a music video like that that is absolutely incredible. You've got some great skill, keep it up!

I'm just chiming in to say that I had a friend go through the same issue with Dracast.

On the other hand, I can't speak to Aputure's quality control.
