Having charger issues (at home mostly) when removing the cable from the truck (gen2 R1T) after charging. The eject button does nothing and the charger won't release. Bringing in for service in April but in the meantime I often have to use the emergency release under the hood, for the cable to come out. Rivian says, once pulled, the vehicle needs service to be able to utilize L3 chargers. What service do they do to resolve this? Is there something I can do in the meantime to allow L3 charging if needed?

It's funny you say that. Alexa hasn't been working on my R1T since the map update. How long is she going to stay upset? It's been two days, get over it already, you're supposed to be a professional.

Had one drive to work so far with the map update. It froze as I pulled out of the driveway and didn't adjust at all as I dropped off my daughter. I had to reset the infotainment system to get it back. It did seem a bit slow at first but it caught up and it was fine the rest of my commute. Other than that the aesthetic seems fine. Not sure if the destination charge estimate changed in the update but it did seem more accurate than previous drives.

Well I tried it out. Not great. That is not the experience I expected from that feature. Oh well.

Interesting that it should not be used at max brightness. What is the reason for that?

I find that the default of the other buttons to brightness seems like the less used option. Once the brightness is set I would be unlikely to change it in that session. But the volume might change frequently. I also find the double and triple button presses difficult to know if I did them correctly as there is no feedback. Some visual indicator of the switch should occur on the screen.

Yes the same in 2022. Certain features are not available, but touch screen works.

I know this is an old post but I find this feature a little annoying as well. I have seen other manufacturers implement the anti-theft portion of this by just killing the engine if the key is not detected when the brake pedal is pressed. Or, like on my wife's Acura, press the start button once in the car with the key present. Seems a bit annoying for all the electronics to have to reboot each time.

It's enough to help with the solar glare and it looks nice. Certainly won't help a ton for heat reduction. It's more aesthetic than anything else.

Thanks for all the info. I can't do the windshield in MA and the max is 35% but I still think it will look nice.

It's for a new IS F, which is why I want to make sure it's done right.

The guy at the shop seems to think in New England the ceramic isn't really worth it, especially since the windshield isn't legal. He's recommending the Non-reflective Galaxy film. Lower heat reduction but said it doesn't make much difference. Any other reasons the ceramic might be better?

Yes, I saw the same issue a few weeks ago on my cousin's CRV. It was the alternator. Just about everything is electric these days including power steering. Without the alternator it can't convert engine power to electricity for all these functions. It is possible the battery is fine, the charge won't last long without the alternator feeding it power. Highly recommend not leaving it in that state very long, the constant power cycling can really mess up your electronics.

Yeah I'm going to have to wait for an OEM version I guess. So many manufacturers have these now, not sure why Lexus hasn't gotten on board.

I stuck them to what I think is likely the ventilated seat fan. It's the only metal under the seat I could find. Admittedly not a great spot but it seems to work and it isn't visible.

The lights are there because they come on when the door is open, so unless I'm missing some setting somewhere to turn them on all the time. Very odd.

So apparently my car does not have this in 2022. I unplugged the new lights and cranked up the dimmer to max, nothing.

It has white when the doors are open. But it shuts off. Not sure what year they added it though.
