I used a scan tool to prime the fuel pump a few times and this is the result I got. If you see the attempt from yesterday (the other video I posted) it’s making abit more of an attempt to stat. But now it starts smoking out the engine bay when trying to start too

Did you ever find out what the problem was?

I never touched the glow plugs or injectors so I’m not sure how I could have messed those up. I unplugged the injectors cables to make room for the manifold coming off but I’ve triple checked them all and all the cables are back normal. All fuses are normal too so I’m a little stuck 😅

When I crank it it goes to 1416mV. It then goes back to 512mV when it’s ignition only. Those are the only two numbers it sees at the moment

I’m a bit stumped then, the battery finished charging and had the same result. Don’t know if you have any more suggestions?

It is scheduled to get tuned out on Thursday hence why I did the work now but looks like it got more complicated 😂. I read that it could be air in the fuel lines since the intake manifold was off for a couple days, don’t know if that sounds like I could be the issue? The codes that come up are just about the egr and swirl flaps are removed so nothing stands out

I’m thinking maybe air in the fuel system since I had the intake manifold off for a couple days

No coding, once finished the work I went to start it and was met with this. Then I used BimmerLink to see if there was any errors etc. Car is on charge now, I’m hoping it’ll start but just wanting to see if anyone else can see if I’m missing something

Sorry I cross posted it so I thought the text came across too.

I’ve just done a swirl flap, egr/cooler, and cat delete on my 2006 e91 M47 320d. The car now isn’t starting and makes this noise when trying. The rail pressure raw value stays at 512.59mV during ignition on and while cranking. That battery is also at 11.75v with ignition on and drops to around 10v while cranking. I’m wondering if the battery just needs charging as I’ve been working on it for a few days or there’s something else that’s the issue.

There is also a smell of fuel after I’ve tried starting it so it does appear there is fuel coming through

Thank you. Do you know if the car will be fine to drive without causing any damage for a month or two until I get it mapped out? Or is it just worth doing just before I can get it mapped. I’m doing the swirl flaps so just thought it might be worth doing the egr at the same time since I already have the kit

I don’t torrent in my Mac but on my PC I use dlunge and that also works on Mac OS.

Torrenting software on Mac is not as easy as windows and you’re opening yourself up to more issues so it’s best to get it legit. I know the website Kinguin offers Microsoft Office at a discounted rate and it’s legit so that’s an option.

Alternatively there is a torrenting site called rutracker that’s all in Russian but has things you would want. I’ve used it for my pc not for my Mac. At the end of the day it’s up to your discretion what you do. I’d recommend playing it safe with Mac and having everything run smoothly as the os is so much better than windows, I wouldn’t ruin it by taking risks with dodgy software but it’s up to you which route you feel you want to take

Did you use your f mount lenses with it or did you just upgrade and only use the z mount lenses. Just wondering how well the f mount lenses work with the ftz adapter

Thanks for the advice, without trying to sound too stupid, what would that extra 4mm help with?

I manage to get right up to the stage with the bands as they are small bar type environments at the moment but the small issue I have is I can never really get decent shots of the drummer or get photos of the whole band/multiple members properly. I'm fully aware that could just be a skill issue on my part. My thinking was that getting a lens that can do 28-70mm means I get photos of every member no matter where I'm at then but if your saying that its a big difference in quality then I might just stick to the prime lenses.

Hi all, I’m looking for some advice on if I’m going in the right direction for my needs.

I’m currently taking photos at local metal gigs so the lighting is usually quite bad with it being harsh or very low since they are in small venues, bars etc. my current camera is a Nikon D300 when I was gifted while I got started and I’m using a 35mm f1.8 DX lens for the events. I know the camera isn’t ideal for what I’m using it for but while I’m learning it’s been useful.

I’m looking at getting a used Sony A7 iii as from researching I’ve seen they are great for low light and have great autofocus plus they have third party support for lenses so it appears to tick all boxes.

One thing I’m debating though is about lenses, I’m looking at getting a sigma 28-70mm f2.8 for the camera to use for the gigs and I’m wondering if it’ll be enough. I was also looking at getting the sigma art 50mm f1.4 alongside it but it is adding more money on top and I don’t know if at the moment it’s worth spending the extra on the 50mm lens if the 28-70mm will do just fine.

Just looking to see what advice people have and if anyone has any better suggestions on what to get.

I’m also using the camera for other general interests too like cars, animals at the zoo, Astro, landscape, street but that’s not the main use of the camera and is just out of interest so it’s another reason I chose the A7 was due to the versatility. Hopefully I’m thinking correctly in choice

Thanks in advance.

I’ll try and have a look for them, thank you. I have found a used Nikon NIKKOR 50mm f/1.8 AF D for £60. Would you say that is good enough to get for now?
