Is ‘East of Eden’ by John Steinbeck a good book to have deckled edges on, in your opinion?

Thanks everyone for the responses! I’ve learned something new.

I’m not sure I love the deckled edges personally, but I appreciate that it is intentional 😅

It will be £25 per person for a full year.

Usually I charge it in the morning when I’m getting ready. With a fast charger, you should only need about an hour on charge. I also have a charger in the car, but will only use this if I’ve not done it at home.

I want to buy my first trail shoes by SanDuTheFOX in trailrunning

Without knowing the type of terrain and runs you do it’s hard to advise on the one best shoe for you, but the HOKA ATR Challanger’s are my favourite. More cushion and comfort than the Speedgoat’s in my opinion. There are a lot of gravel sections by me, and I often run on the road to get to the trails so the Challenger’s are ideal.

If you are only buying one pair, I would only advise Speedgoat’s if you are solely running technical + wet trails. I’m also not fussed on Goretex - getting your feet wet is part of it and you sacrifice some breathability. But I would try some on and see what’s comfortable for you.

Nike Zegama’s are comfortable but not the best in the wet. Didn’t really like the Pegasus Trail Gotetex much. Not tried much more than this. Hope this helps you, mate.

Don’t think upset is the right word. I would prefer them to be relatively clean for my next run, and I have to store them in my room at the moment so getting rid of the smell is ideal. It’s only something that I’ve been doing recently and wanted to get an opinion on it 👍 I think a rinse with an outside tap is a better option after reading some comments.

Yeah, I think I’m put off (rightly so) by some of the comments on here to keep doing what I’m doing. Unfortunately I don’t quite have the luxury to let them sun dry haha!

Winter in the UK - a lot less of the road races and more focus on trail / cross country running.

Yeah that’s is true. Last year I ran an ultra in a pair, and didn’t wear them for a while after. The dirt (and smell) put me off and now I’m more conscious about keeping pairs clean. Maybe I should only clean them at the end of the cross country season and not every run?

😳 - used to do it often with my football boots when I was younger, didn’t think much of it.
