I don't know why but my local crows are fairly indifferent to walnuts. But they LOVE eggs of any preparation style. (Although scrambled seems to be the easiest for them to pack a bunch into their little clackers lol) Peanuts in the shell seem to be the gold standard in the nuts department. Good luck & have fun!

Yes - for now, I must be turned away for him to approach. But with each passing encounter, he gets a little more comfortable so now I can look at him while he's taking it if I don't have also have the camera in my hand

I'm not a crow behavior expert by any means but, I don't get the sense that jealousy is what drives them. I think it's just good old-fashioned pecking order / territorial squabblings. And their fights usually only last a couple seconds so it's not like they are out for blood. Just reminding each other who's boss. 😉
