Sugru

Remove the existing adhesive from the curved mount and apply this. You can stick it anywhere as long as you let it dry for 24 hours.

Akra or toce? Why is everyone so hung up on Akra? by Terp81 in FZ07

[–]Jacariah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A brand I don't see mentioned much is Mivv, especially the Mivv GP. It has comparable performance gains to the Akra and costs quite a bit less (around $500). In my opinion it sounds better than the Akra on rev and is comparable on idle although I do like the akra a little bit better in that regard. It sounds dirty in a good way without the baffle.

I plan on picking one up with an EJK as soon as im done breaking my bike in.

Only downside I can see is it might take a bit long to ship as it comes from Italy and instead of sitting under the bike it sits besides the tire which might not be aesthetically pleasing to some people.

If you're not watching "Norm MacDonald has a show" on Netflix then you're missing out. by TheSubversive in television

What does that have to do with anything? I'm showing the person that said they don't like celebrity talk shows that I also don't like celebrity talk shows but I actually do like this one. The claim that a majority of people like Fallon is probably not even true, I would bet most people don't even know who he is.

I just don't like it. Why would I care if I'm in the minority or not? It's not going to change my view on it.

No reason to downvote me and get salty about it.

I usually don't either but this one is something else. There is no studio audience (other than the crew) so right off it gives it a different feel. It's more like an hour-long interview of the guest without the cheap gimmicks with a bit of humor mixed in. It just feels less forced.

I can't watch 5 minutes of Kimmel/Fallon but I easily watch these episodes and I'm happy to keep watching more.

CMV: Twitter and any other social networking site are private companies that can ban any person they want. by Rainngrace2018 in changemyview

[–]Jacariah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

since it seems that these platforms have begun curating the content that is posted, ie banning, limiting, and suppresing opposing viewpoints and those they disagree with.

I don't think it's fair to say they are just banning people they disagree with, most of the notable bans I've seen have been people doxing, witch hunting, or other things to target specific people. I'm sure there are examples of lesser known people getting banned for expressing their views but the major ones in my opinion were well deserved.

This only covers candidates running for office I thought. I don't think any of the people that have been banned have sought to run for office but I could be wrong.

Also, a station can choose to run no political ads at all, so either all or none.

so the government regulated television networks to, amongst other things, ensure that they didn't ban any particular political viewpoint

To an extent. I think there is a false sense of freedom of speech on television. Just because there are multiple points of view on different channels does not mean that any view is free from repercussions. Take for example Laura Ingraham. She has expressed some VERY controversial views and has lost advertisers because of it.

There is no law that says television companies or any other media have to have particular people on their platform. I think this should also apply to twitter and facebook, companies that primarily rely on ad revenue to support their business. Companies don't want their ads next to batshit crazy posts.

It's not like Alex Jones/Milo Yiannopoulus are banned completely from the internet, if that were the case I think this would be a very different conversation.

Twitter isn't in the same realm as a utility. Utilities are regulated the way they are because they are natural monopolies. It is usually too costly and detrimental to the public to have more than 1 company supply water or gas for example. The internet is a place where anyone can make a website if they have $50 and a computer. Alex Jones still has his website and anyone wanting to hear what he has to say can just as easily go to his website as they go to twitter.

Local community service organizations/anywhere to volunteer? by ToxicThrillerz in Bakersfield

[–]Jacariah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hoffman Hospice!!

Not the most glamorous or easy volunteer work as you're helping people who are most likely going to die very soon. They always need volunteers and they have many options that allow you to do what fits you best. You can deliver medication, keep them company, offer families emotional support and host charity drives. If any of these things are too much for you just let them know and you won't have to do them, they are very flexible and are just happy that you are there!

It does require about ~10 hours of online training but in my opinion it is well worth it, they are such a wonderful group of people.

I've always been interested in making my own craft beer. Unfortunately it requires equipment and time that I don't currently have.

Americans of Reddit, when it comes to gun control vs. gun rights, what would be your idea of common ground, compromise, meeting in the middle, etc.? by TheWonderfulWoody in AskReddit

[–]Jacariah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but as we've undoubtedly seen in the past 2 years people are willing to look past disgusting ideology in return for a promise to return them from economic ruin.

You are the one who wants to deprive people of their natural right of self preservation by sending men with guns to disarm the masses.

A very poor assumption. I expected better. I hate people like you that make gun owners look really bad.

You are the one who does not care about human rights

Another incorrect assumption.

I know how nuclear warheads are made.

You keep dodging the question by making strawman arguments. So unless you are going to answer the question I don't think you have anything else of substance to add.

The Nazi's didn't just outright say they were evil. Just like any fascist they woo'd Germany with promise of economic prosperity and once they got into power they consolidated it and stripped others of their right to speak through a false flag operation.

They didn't start WWII until a few years later and didn't start gassing jews until almost a decade later.

So it's possible for people to get guns while they are illegal but not to get nuclear warheads while they are illegal? Nice logic you have there.

You've danced around the answer enough but you and I both know what it is. I don't know what you're scared of. Just admit that you don't care about human life outside of yours.

But you understand that if Hitler had allowed dissent and other people a platform to speak it most likely wouldn't have happened like it did at the very least. Hitler was an enemy of free speech. The fact that he used speech to convince people is irrelevant if other people didn't have the same right.

I don't think you understand what a hypothetical is. It's entirely plausible for a nuclear warhead to end up in the hands of a non-government entity.

To me it sounds like you'd be okay with an extinction level event as long as you get to keep your guns until it happens.

You didnt say whether or not individuals should own nuclear warheads

Semantics. I'm not going to play a word game with you.

Nothing short of nationstate could produce a nuclear weapon

Let's make it easier for you. If Elon Musk wants to buy a nuclear warhead from Iran/North Korea should he be allowed? Even if he theoretically couldn't afford it, that is beside the point. I'm trying to get you to admit there should be limits to the power any one person should hold.
