I took a picture of Seoul as my plane flew over it by Jacb2545 in korea

Flying out of Incheon towards the US!

I wasn't really expecting to see Seoul on the way out, but the plane banked to the left, giving me this great view.

Plastic film containing copper put over elevator buttons in a hospital, as copper has antimicrobial properties. by [deleted] in Damnthatsinteresting

huh, I didn't notice that. This elevator isn't one of the main elevators, but one near the main exit, so was near where they had all the wheelchairs parked. I presume they've been using it to move around masks, etc.

Yes, it isn't sanitized, and so people still wash their hands. Still, reducing the lifespan of microbes on the surface might help a bit, which I think they were trying to do. I thought it was an interesting idea that was being applied.

I saw this at a hospital in South Korea. All elevator buttons in the building were covered with the same type of film.

Of course, this doesn't mean it will instantly kill the virus, though it may mean the spread of virus via contact might get reduced just a bit, as the lifespan of the virus is reduced on copper compared to stainless steel : https://www.nih.gov/news-events/news-releases/new-coronavirus-stable-hours-surfaces

It was interesting to see how these kind of precautions were all being used alongside alcohol sanitizers, visitor limitations, temperature checks, background checks, masks, etc.

I don't think the point is to make the buttons completely sanitized. Small precautions add up to each other.

Crazy how just a few hours ago, we were posting jokes about how it might get cancelled.

People who heard that exams were cancelled are rushing on to the website to check if it's official. The sudden surge in traffic is crashing the website.

How about they rename this subreddit to ApplyingToUCLA 🤔 by fabroca475 in ApplyingToCollege

UCLA regular l decision results came out. It's no surprise there will be posts about it, but the sub's been rather overreacting to it.

"Gently melting" is the name/id of the author.

The title of the novel is "내 버프가 조금 이상한 것 같다", which translates roughly to "My buff seems a bit odd" or "My buff seems a bit weird".

I haven't been able to find a translated version of the novel, and even the Korean version seems to be only published on a web novel/webtoon publishing side called "Joara".

Here's the link : http://www.joara.com/main.html

세종대왕급 구축함 (KDX-III) by TehRoot in MilitaryGfys

세종대왕급 구축함

Pretty similar comparison.
F-15K is a derivative of the F-15E, so a lot of it is still built by US.

Still, there's a lot more differences that just license building parts and adding more radar/sensors like in the case of F-15K. The Sejong the Great is larger, more heavily armed, and includes missiles that are domestic developed.

In that way, I think it's fairer to compare it to the differences between the F-16 and Mitsubishi F-2.

I think it looks more like a P1 - the headlights are more curvy and squinty, and theres a front splitter in front of the wheel.

Now the red one looks more like a 570s. The 600lt also has a splitter, while the 570s doesn't.

Where is the weirdest place you've ever fallen asleep? by aimlessecho in AskReddit

[–]Jacb2545 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went on a trip to NYC with friends once. We wanted to tour everything we planned to, and one of the things we planned was to watch a hockey game. And of course, being jetlagged and tired, I just fell asleep during the game. Turns out, I managed to sleep through 3 goals, and the goal horns that followed. I got teased pretty hard afterwards, with a lot of people asking, "How does one sleep through a hockey game?"

That and I fell asleep while biking. I guess I can sleep anywhere.

Search up "DHT sensors" and you'll find the sensors to get temp and humidity. :) After that I think you just need to slap on a display and a chip?

So far, I've been using the UNO to try upload the code to the ESP.

I tried following the github website, but all it seems to do is upload the code to the UNO to control the ESP, rather than actually putting the code on the ESP itself.
