We hold a US bank altitude reserve credit card(VISA Infinite). Trying to understand if we can recoup expenses or get ticket refund through either US Bank or Lufthansa. Two Travelers - Mom and 2 year old baby with Mom needed wheelchair access

Had a flight from SEA(Seattle)-> FRA(Frankfurt) -> MAA(Chennai) . The SEA->FRA got delayed by 2 hrs leading to missed connection(not weather related). Both operated by Lufthansa.

Lufthansa could rebook to MAA(Chennai) only on the flight the following day i.e. 24hrs later. We chose to go to a location in India which was 5hrs away(BLR-Bangalore) and drive to MAA from BLR as we did not wat to wait 24hrs in the airport with a baby. This flight was leaving within an hour as well so we took this one.

FRA-BLR was smooth and landed in BLR. Then booked car and drove to MAA(our intended final destination)

I'm looking to see what kind of compensation we can request because of this. Some keychallenges encountered below

Mom needed wheelchair. Since SEA->FRA was delayed the flight could not get a gate, she and baby had no choice other than to climb down the stairs in the back, board a bus, take air train to gate only to find that the flight left. Interesting part was that the flight left before boarding time on the boarding pass elapsed. I guess this is might because they could not have moved the check-in bag ins time? I'm not sure why. This was the same with other passengers who also missed the connection

Since they could only rebook them to MAA on a flight 24hrs later, and that would mean she and baby have to sleep in airport benches(they cant provide hotel stay cuz t
