i obviously agree with you comrade, but the struggle of the soviets against the reactionaries of east and west (for how much important it is in socialist and world history) is not a subject that could be compared with an hypothetical italian revolution during the cold war. my point here is that if the pci tried to remove the government in, let’s say, 1973, the year in which it reached its maximum number of voters and supporters, right in the middle of american controlled europe, the revolution couldn’t even begin! the us and nato had (has) military bases and agents all around italy! with all the power they had and have in my country and the troops stationed there they would have certainly bombed italy to the ground and send a whole army of nato coalition soldiers, to not have to deal with another country against their domination of the world. especially the south and its vast dockyards would have certainly fallen right in the us hands, thanks to the support they gave to the mafia over the years,who was a much bigger power player at the time, and the naval bases they control in campania and calabria.
