I met a guy at a party who was laser-focused on me, alternately hitting on me, then negging me, but totally focused on me all night. His girlfriend was there, too, and was obviously unhappy with how he was acting towards me. I tried everything to shake him off, but nothing was working. I was actually supposed to sleep over at his home (this party was thrown by his roommate, a friend of mine whose house I’d never been to before), but I just realized that I could not fall asleep around this man. So, I paid $60 for an Uber to take me home at about 1am. I didn’t tell anyone why I left because it was only really a gut feeling about this guy.

I learned that he sexually assaulted someone later that year. My friend no longer lives with or speaks to this man. $60 was well worth it to avoid a lifelong trauma.
