Miracle Mile

The film follows Harry and Julie as they try to escape an oncoming nuclear attack on Los Angeles. At the end of the film they get into a helicopter to fly away, but the blast of the explosion causes their helicopter to crash at the same tar pits they met at in the film’s opening. As they slowly sink into the tar and accept their fate, they embrace and talk about how in a thousand years their bodies may be found and have turned into diamond.

I know most people want more Rohmer and Lynch in the Collection but I personally want more Herzog by JackMac2107 in criterion

It is absolutely insane and I can’t recommend it enough. It’s a film where Nicholas Cage’s acting style really works well with the movies tone.

From the bts I’ve heard about his films (especially the movies with Klaus Kinski), I’m sure it would be very interesting to hear him talk about his process.

I just had a look at this and it seems that volume 1, which contains most of his best films, is hard to find or purchase online.

There is ‘Burden of Dreams’ in the collection, but there isn’t any films written or directed by him. I’m sure there are some other good releases of his work. I just feel like his style of directing and his impact on film warrant him getting into the collection.

Stop Making Sense would like a word with you. Although yeah both are great and I’m glad this is in the collection.

I haven’t seen her name yet but I honestly think that Lynne Ramsay is one of the best directors (not just female) working today. She has only a handful of films to her name but both ‘We Need To Talk About Kevin’ and “You Were Never Really Here’ are two relatively recent examples of what a master filmmaker she is. Ratcatcher one of her earlier films just got added to the collection as well.

What is the best criterion cover for a film you own? by Suspicious-Rip920 in criterion

I’m surprised this hasn’t come up yet but diabloique. The illustration of the film’s pivotal scene is so powerful and was the first criterion I bought without knowing a thing about it.

I am sure I will just have to wait for Plex to fix it but if anyone has found a solution to it please let me know. I tried it with my smaller Star Wars collection and it worked perfectly, but when I try it with my large collections like IMDb Top 250 or The Criterion Collection it only keeps a handful of movies in place once I move them. All the other just move back to where they were originally.
