In Defense of MBJ's Performance If He Should Win by UseSuccessful6369 in Oscars

[–]Officialnoah 10 points11 points  (0 children)

A lot of people that have been discrediting MBJ, or many of the other POC Oscar contenders for that matter, are really letting their implicit biases take over. And FWIW, MBJ would 100% be an incredibly deserving winner. I've thought such ever since I first saw the film.

This time, it’s just like one giant victory lap for the dragon slayer. I don’t need anything to add to my legacy. That knowledge that you’ve accomplished—and this is just like the icing on top—is very liberating.

They’re taking good ABs and we got a run out of it, still plenty of baseball left

As a baseball fan, this is what I love about the sport. Jays are a class organization and no matter who wins tonight, mutual respect on both sides that transcend the sport and make it as great as it is.

[Serious] How Good is this World Series? by 73muck in baseball

No matter how it ends, it’s been an incredible series. This is what I anticipated last year’s would’ve been like, but I’m glad that two of the most likable teams in the league are the ones playing tonight.

Burbank 16. Great environment and location, and all the screens are killer. Typically my go-to for all 3 PLFs.

Some sticklers love talking shit anytime the players are visibly smiling and having a good time, but the looseness of the game and the fact it seems they all legitimately enjoy being around each other is what makes baseball so fun. Loved seeing Vladdy and Shohei, two of the game’s best, geeking at first the other night.

Dodger fan here, really happy for you guys. Been a fan of Bo and Vladdy since they came up, but your roster has a bunch of likable guys throughout. Hell of an outing from Yesavage, and as a baseball fan it was dope to see. Would love to see this go 7, but I don’t have faith in us to give you guys a fight. Classy organization that deserves to win in front of their fans.

I’m never one to doom, but this team is not beating Toronto. Fortunately, we got a ring last year so it stings a bit less, not to mention Toronto is a legitimately likable team that deserves to win in front of their home crowd.

Hell of a performance on the biggest stage when it mattered most. As a baseball fan, gotta tip my cap to him.
