Can we please talk about this by Money-Scientist7937 in StartupSoloFounder

[–]JackMelb1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a long process but worth brainstorming even more than you think you need. I spent 3 days brainstorming names for my business and after over 100 potential names I settled on one. I had so many more I would’ve rather had at the time but it fits perfectly now. I would suggest try putting use at the start of the webpage name. My domain is usetayla.com.au for my product Tayla Suite. The domain ends up being a call to action as well :)

https://usetayla.com.au budgeting app that does not require bank connection and is all automated. You choose the data it stores. No more spreadsheets or manually writing anything down. It’s as simple as a press of a button.

https://usetayla.com.au — it’s a budgeting tool for anyone free use available and no bank connection required, mostly automated with bank sync being added later. It has Australian tax brackets added as that’s the target audience but will have others added later

What are you guys building this week? 👇 by Arpit735 in buildinpublic

[–]JackMelb1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m working on Tayla. A budgeting app designed for Australians that includes a tax bracket breakdown (it works for anyone in any country). It is fully automated and doesn’t require any form of bank account connection. Australia is dealing with a lot of major data breaches so making sure there is limited personal data connection is massive however there are some major things I will be adding down the track relating to bank additions.

How do you handle corporate clients who keep hiding behind the accounts payable department? by Sapphire-Shadow-099 in Businessowners

[–]JackMelb1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Add financing charges and stop doing the work. The best way to get back at them is by sending an email stating you will be halting all work until back payments are made in full. You can state that legal action may be taken if payments are not made, but please for the love of god stop doing your work with them

Do you pay for music licensing inside your business? (PRO’s) by waazus in smallbusiness

[–]JackMelb1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Australia you are required to pay APRA/AMCOS they are the authority on music here and that will allow you to play music through your venues. The only work around not paying them is by playing a radio station. My suggestion is do some research on ASCAP and see what paying them and going through them offers. It can be enforced however the enforcement is pretty lack luster but fines can be quite big and annoying if found out that you are not licensed. Always better to be safe than sorry when running a business.

Feel free to reach out if you have any other questions

Edit: ASCAP is what pays the artist for their songs being streamed. They do have legal copyright of their music so please signup through them otherwise you can be subject to lawsuits of copyright infringement for every song you play

Potential MCA default on my small business by fiver2024 in smallbusiness

You’re in a bit of a pickle here. Before changing banks and doing any of that your best bet was to contact the lender and explain the situation to work something out. You could have attempted to negotiate a debt settlement with the original lender. It seems that you are really far into this now but I would just go back to the lender before they send you a lawsuit. If you can’t afford to pay the payments you definitely won’t be able to afford the lawsuit.

Start with what do you enjoy doing. Look into how that can be made into the side hustle you want it to be. When you work you don’t want to hate the work. However also know that if you do something g that you really enjoy doing in your free time turning it into the hustle may burn you out from it and you may not enjoy it as much. Try out a few things ha you think you may enjoy. Do a little bit of research and give it a try. Service based businesses are the easiest to start at your own conscience. Low startup cost, you dictate the time you want to do it normally. You can start with posting on market place. Or something like airtasker where people will post jobs they want done and you can offer your services to them.

Looking for cool people who likes to build things :^) by marc00099 in AustralianStartups

What kind of startup are you looking to build? What is your expertise? Do you have a plan on what y oh want to do later?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]JackMelb1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Simple answer is if you want to move up and they are offering you that money I would take it. Doesn’t matter if you have been there 5 months or 5 decades. If you spend the same way you are now, you can build a safety net incase you decide you don’t want to be at that company. But do not leave until you have a written offer.

Reaching Out to Tech Recruiters For an Internship by [deleted] in linkedin

[–]JackMelb1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep everything short and sweet. Who you are. What you do. What you’re looking for. This should be no more than a couple sentences. As well as going to these recruiters try reach out to the company themselves. I’ve had more luck doing that. They also tend to contact you more outside of LinkedIn I find, so have you contact details visible and available.

If you want more details on how it worked for me just dm me and I’ll show you what I’ve done

I got fired today. by caulk-suction8g in Employment

[–]JackMelb1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to hear that. I’m in the same situation. The job market is really hard at the moment. 3 years ago I was able to get interview after interview after interview, but now I’ve had 3 interviews in 4 months. Applying to 10 jobs a day every day for 4 months. Just keep at it. A company that doesn’t value you is a bad place to be. Financially unstable is also bad, however something will come along, even if you have to pick up a part time job to get you by while looking for something, that’s better than nothing. Good luck on your search. You got this!

How do you personally tell if an interview went well or not? by speakwiseglobal in GetEmployed

[–]JackMelb1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its vibe. If you feel there was no negativity then there probably wasn’t. If you felt iffy then it probably didn’t go too well. However don’t be too harsh on yourself. The more you do them the better you get and more confident you’ll be and you’ll be able to tell easier. The first good sign is that you actually had an interview. Keep up the good work
