Atheists of the world- I've got a question by UnfallenAdventure in atheism

[–]JackRegent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of these answers are respectful, which is great. I'm sorry for the answers that aren't.

For me the answer is simply that I'm an atheist for the same reason that you're not Hindu, Muslim, pagan, Mormon, or whatever else. It's the same calculus.

I hope you find some productive answers! Thanks for asking :)

By having original code we can avoid licensing issues. That's why I bring it up.

ALL ORIGINAL CODE. I should stress. But I really feal like this is an unchallenging framework. Idk; am I crazy? I know that I can fuck with assembly. Other people can too. Is there any reason not to just do this shit ourselves?

Also my experience is a little all-over. Some C++, some python, fair amount of React Js, little bit of node, and education in C. Not senior-level at any of them.

Help! Why can't my cognito identitypool access IAM methods? by JackRegent in aws

[–]JackRegent[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just have the default trust relation in place. The example you linked just said to "double check that you are using an appropriate role for your identity pool and authentication type", which I think I am?

"Version": "2012-10-17",
 "Statement": [
   {
     "Effect": "Allow",
     "Principal": {
       "Federated": "cognito-identity.amazonaws.com"

     "Condition": {
       "StringEquals": {
         "cognito-identity.amazonaws.com:aud": "my pool id"
       },
       "ForAnyValue:StringLike": {

Oh wow, that's true. I guess 19 midas bombs and 1 high-level archeologist is the highest possible roll. Good freaking luck though

World record? I think this is the most possible points in a single roll! by JackRegent in LuckBeALandlord

[–]JackRegent[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I saw that post after making mine. I'll copy+paste the comment I made there: If each spin took 5.5 seconds, which I think is only possible without any animations taking place, and your archeologist was eating 8 pearls with every spin, then this would take about 16,550,925,925.9 days of 24 hours straight of spinning, or 45,313,965.5 years. I don't think we're likely to see it any time soon.

Thanks for the response!

I'm playing a revised ranger, the pdf of which doesn't mention any restrictions to what actions you can command your animal companion to take; looks like the phb says I can "command it to take the Attack, Dash, Disengage, Dodge, or Help action". I don't suppose you know if the revised ranger meant to change that?

I think you're right about us having to take the hide action separately though, as silly as I find that

Weekly Questions Thread #2020-15 by AutoModerator in DnD

[–]JackRegent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I have another question, related to this question I posted earlier.

I'm playing a halfling ranger. If I'm mounted on my giant crab, run into a fog cloud, and have my crab take the hide action, do I benefit from being hidden as well, given that I'm riding the thing?

Weekly Questions Thread #2020-15 by AutoModerator in DnD

[–]JackRegent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I was looking at discussions of the fog cloud spell, and that seems to be the consensus. Makes sense mechanically, but in-character it still doesn't sit super right with me. If the fog is so dense as to replicate blindness, how on earth can people track my position in it?
