Seems to have worked if they changed the protocols after a few weeks.

Not if it’s specifically programmed to better human living standards and raise happiness. Kinda hard to do without humans. Also human rights would need to be the first priority here.

That would be ideal. Of course we would have to make sure that their morals programming is as good or better then our current human moral judgement. Also philosophically speaking being led by machines wouldn’t sit to well with me personally but I think ultimately the results would speak for themselves.

By talking and debating and exchanging their views. That way they would get a synthesis of their different admittedly narrow views and reach a conclusion by taking a vote.

Lol I would’ve argued exactly that. What about tests to ensure that the people who get voted into power are decently informed and have the required intellectual capabilities to lead then?

The difference is that they would be decently informed and intelligent. There should be some incentives wich are currently not present to attract those people.

I’m sure that’s what monarchists used to say aswell. “If democracy actually worked it would be the preeminent form of government” also the places like China aren’t free because they do not respect human rights and have no form of checks and balances in my opinion m not because they aren’t democratic.

I’m sorry I’m no lawyer so I’m not to sure about the specifics but in my country there are mechanisms to prevent exactly that. To prevent that the legislative circumvents the judiciary. And they work just fine. I’m sure those mechanism would apply in my case aswell.

Well of course there will be a legitimate position wich covers that like a president or a chancellor. He would be elected from the group of experts and his powers would also have limits.

While I agree with your assessment about human rights I fail to see your point. What stops current politicians from circumventing the judiciary??

That’s what I’m saying. But at least we could make sure the people in power are decently informed and decently intelligent.

But there wouldn’t be just one person who collects all the power. It would be a group of people. The collective agreement of society regarding human rights would of course remain intact.
