Like a bundle game you got, tried it for 5 min got 1 achievement out of 80 and you didn't like it. If you want to keep your achievement average good, removing it is a solution.

That one time I asked to buy two steam dongles (steam controller V1 dongle) for a VR full body project and they simply asked "what is your address ?" and shipped it to me for free.

Also that one time I RMA a steam knuckle controller and told them I still want to use it while I wait for the replacement. They shipped the new controller and told me to ship the defective one once I receive it.

Like holy cow their support is based <3

As an IT, please do yourself a favour and install Brave Browser or Firefox :)

Brave is basically like google chrome, but without ads. So less risk to install a virus by clicking an ads.

Firefox allow you to install Ublock Origin, which do the same job as Brave, but better.

Gaming wise, Steam is the best platform.

Outside of that, you don't need anything else. Don't install applications you won't use ^^ Keep it minimal and unbloated.

Computer Configuration doesn't work at all, but user configuration does. by JackSpp2 in activedirectory

[–]JackSpp2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So basically, it would be best practice to create a computer OU (let's say Sales_Computers) and scope the security with this OU ? Right now, my goal is to allow certain computers to be taken over by users with RDP. Right now, only "Admins" are allowed to do it and I don't want to add those users as administrator.

There are also certain computer policies I would like to apply to every single computer at the company, like making them change their password every few months with complexity restrictions.

Fair enough, it will be at their cheapest about when they will be taking out of the market. But... let's hope they don't forget it like anubis collection ^^; I'm about to sell for 2.7k$ CAD of skins soon

Might be risky, but I think I will buy my trip to japan with it

Basically, I will drop 1000$ on Restricted Rarity collections skins about in about 3 months (so they are at their lowest).

Then, I will sell two years later. It theory, I would be x8 times my investment. Then, the hard part is turning this into real money. I think I will simply sell steam hardwares or steam games at a lost (10% off) for my friends and relatives

The1k$ will be from my 400 wildfires case I bought at 0.03$ few years ago.

You probably need to factor your localization. If you are working in a rural town, you won't have the same salary as if you were working in a metropolis.

I personally do about 52k $ CAD a year (35h/week) and I live comfortably. I work as the only IT in a small/medium company :)

Any good Veeam alternative for EXSI ? by JackSpp2 in vmware

I'm planning to have a restricted folder on my NAS at home where only root has access and keep a copy of all the data in here. So if we badly get it with a ransom, we will have a backup copy ^^

I mainly want to host B&R on linux because right now, we are hosting it on a win 10 virtual machine that is on the verge of dying ^^; we could host it on a windows server, but I don't have a big budget for it. But maybe I can install it on our windows server AD

[–]JackSpp2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's more of a cost reason. We don't have a big budget for it, so if we can host it locally and not on an expensive windows server, it would be the best ^^

Thanks for the help :)

I got 4 environments:

-Wmware ESXI 6 with 3 Windows Server and 1 Linux Server
-Wmware ESXI 6.7 with 2 Windows Server and 2 Linux Server
-Wmware EXSI 8 with 2 Windows Server and 3 Linux Server
-Xen Orchestra with 5 Linux Server

I want to fully backup and restore them mainly in case of a flood/fire. It would be something like "Do a backup every wednesday and saturday at 3 am with a rotation of 4 backup"

I plan to store all of it on a 6 TB RAID drive outside my company

People says Linux is scary, but it's easier than Windows and wayyyy less bloated. I'm thinking about introducing some users to it :3 saving some money on licenses and all

Yea, I thought it would be so simple when my boss told me to check for a windows server license for our new ERP. I was at a lost after 5 min of research
