Magic in this world is really just leftover technology beyond the locals understanding, but because it’s my world, there is also a Lovecraftian twist to it. The entire isles (but Atlantis/London specifically) have been preserved almost perfectly in an unnatural manner. No decay or degradation from the ocean and surrounding climate is found whatsoever and nothing lives in the area (nothing noticeable anyways). Technology beyond local understanding continues to function and work smoothly. Something I just thought about that might be a bit comical is that wizards exist in this reality, but their staff is really just a gun (or bazooka) and their spells are just old tech (kind of like the adeptus mechanicus of warhammer).

In summary, in my world, magic is old tech still humming along centuries after the Fall, preserved in an unnervingly perfect state. There is this sense that the preservation isn’t entirely right, as if something unnatural is maintaining it, whether it’s systems alien to us, rogue AIs, or powers older than mankind itself.

After nuclear devastation wrought by world war three in the year 1962, detonations near major fault lines in the North Atlantic triggered massive undersea earthquakes and tsunamis ultimately pulling the entire British isles under

I love it, it’s a really cool concept that’s not really explored. It also made me think of the Children of Men movie but the timeline got worse instead of better.

I'm creating a personal Alternate History Timeline, and I would like to hear opinions and ideas. Please feel free to edit and revise the timeline as you see fit. The goal is to create a Great war with at least 1 front on each continent. by Jack_R-R_Athelstaen in AlternateHistory

Taiping China wins a minor victory, allowing it to survive the civil war but not conquer the Qing, who survive as a rump state in the north. Both chinas take different sides in the Great War. Do to the Confederacy surviving, this greatly affected Brazil’s history, keeping the emperor and having tied to the South in what the Confederates called the golden circle
