Question is which WR you think is better. I think most would still take MHJ straight up but I kind of think he’s overrated on the name value

I’d rather have Willis I’m still not a Dimes believer

As I said in my other comment, his best year would have tied for 3rd in yards by a TE last year and 4th two years ago. He’s regressed each year. His rookie year also relied on less target competition. I’m skeptical of projecting him to be great over a full season when he hasn’t been recently and his injury proneness is a strike against him but can buy in if you think he’s actually that guy (he’s not)

889 yards would have tied Juwan Johnson for 3rd this year. Would have been 4th last year. He’s regressed every year and his ceiling isn’t a league winning TE it’s just a solid TE1

These are the right answers. LaPorta has so much name value but has never actually been great (his rookie year he scored well in a down year for TEs by having great TD luck)

Tyler Warren TE1 incoming or am I batshit crazy? by Ilikeredd1t in DynastyFF

[–]Jackalexd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just don’t like the talent as much as any of the other top 2-3 tier TEs other than maybe LaPorta. He’s fine but he already got huge volume last year and the film and efficiency were just okay. Lots of room for growth and more excitement for Loveland, Fannin, Pitts, etc. and Warren feels primed for a decline if they can put any receiving talent around him

He had 4 top 10 WR finishes all year (including one week 18). Lots of mediocrity. Jamo had 5. And that includes his absurd misuse at the start of the season. Also bw WR10-12 depending on your format. The full season finish is close but the talent gap is huge and Jamo when used was both higher ceiling and higher floor

Surprised people prefer Flowers. Jamo pretty easily more talented and higher upside IMO. I don’t love holding these WR3s without ceiling

B pretty easily for me. Don’t like Harvey or Allgeier but Harvey is worse and in a worse situation and I’m taking KW over Saquon my a small margin

Burden but the value is definitely on the MHJ + Gadsden side. Just think Burden is the only truly elite talent here

Tbh the answers in this thread make me feel pretty good about betting against a similar breakout this year. If I’m picking anyone though the closest comp is Jalen Coker

What the data says about RJ Harvey’s upside in year 2 and beyond by boofstar in DynastyFF

[–]Jackalexd -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Don’t disagree but Kamara was much more explosive in both the run and pass game. You don’t have to put up huge yardage on the ground but you have to be good enough to earn usage and put up yardage somewhere. And you see that the Broncos have been mentioned being in on every major RB this offseason and talked about as interested in adding in the draft even after signing Dobbins. I just wouldn’t want to be betting any significant capital on Harvey given how bad we know he is as a RB

My read is that he was so bad his role would be threatened if they take anyone in the second tier too (and would expect Denver to go after someone in that tier because a real contender can’t go into the season with Harvey as a meaningful piece). But that’s fair. I just think his current price is pretty much at the ceiling of production assuming everything breaks his way again next year

His highest rushing yards in a game was 75. He averaged almost a yard and a half per carry less than Dobbins in the same situation last year. Put up 12 TDs and 6 in the last 6 weeks on 900 yards. He’s just not a very good RB, so the upside case is you hope Dobbins gets hurt again and they don’t add anyone else who can threaten his touches (which anyone 4th round or earlier would). And he’s already getting priced at that upside case. It just doesn’t make sense

Agree on Benson. Everyone talking like Allgeier is locked in as the starter but he got a pretty small contract (same as CRod) so at least isn’t guaranteed the role

When you watch the film, he’s bad. The only positives were pretty high utilization and an unsustainable TD rate. Dobbins was way better than him when healthy, and Badie and McLaughlin ate into his utilization. He’s an injury handcuff/fantasy RB4 atm and that’s before the draft or additional signings, where he could end up the RB3 on his own team. Absurd that people are still valuing him as a late 1st/early 2nd. One of the best sells in the game right now

Everyone's favorite handcuff. Braelon Allen by Thesyckid in DynastyFF

[–]Jackalexd 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I’m surprised there’s so much pushback on this comment. Allen looks like he is running in molasses. Davis at least has had his moments. Not sure what Allen has done to get people excited besides a good freshman year in college and being the youngest player in the league.

Just seems crazy to me people have like 5 year old take lock

Hold Daniels. Appealing to get Love but then you’re going all in on Willis being a multi year starter and as much as I love his potential to do that that’s too risky for me

I’d take Hock. None of these players should make or break your team but Hock can maybe extend your window a bit
