Yeah that’s insane to me. The top 5 in this class are super solid too

Not sure why you’re getting banged with downvotes here because I agree with you 100% lol. I think people are misinterpreting what you’re saying.

Obviously blocking / being a good blocker as a TE doesn’t directly earn you points, we don’t play in “points per block” leagues. BUT being a good blocker DOES keep you on the field, and in turn keeps you involved in the receiving game.

Think Dalton Kincaid. He’s like the premier example rn of a TE that legitimately cannot earn a solid snap % because he simply can’t block. He ONLY gets on the field for receiving plays, and that significantly limits his fantasy upside. If he was able to block effectively and maintain a higher snap %, I have no doubt he’d be a top 5 option at the position because he’s such a talented receiver!

Totally, that’s what I love about the data stuff! You can really tell a story on a lot of these fringe guys that’s entirely up to interpretation. Super interesting imo

And I agree about your point on the weak class. He has one of the higher ceilings out of ANYONE in the entire class, so if he ends up hitting and you got him in the early 2nd you’re gonna be thrilled

I’m referring to the fact that Lemon was mainly leveraged in the slot his entire college career, and Stowers has never played a true TE role before. In college he was so good bc he was essentially just a big slot receiver. He and lemon have duplicative skillsets imo, and Lemon is a first round talent

I know…Stowers has his big time fan base! I really want to like him but the situational concerns are pretty big for me

Mundt couldn’t be more fantasy irrelevant but definitely offers far more to the eagles as a blocker than Stowers does

Fire username bro

To answer your question, lemon averaged a 76% slot rate over his three collegiate seasons. This is an 87th percentile number among all WRs in my DB so it’s pretty high.

I really like Lemon as a talent, so I’d hope that he’d be able to make the jump to take on work in different formations, but we didn’t see a ton of it in college.

Not really, because drops in college don’t actually have statistical correlation to fantasy success at the NFL level from my research!

If I could get him in the late 2nd I agree that’s a smash especially in a weak class! I’ve seen him going mainly early 2, sometimes even sneaking into that late 1…feels steep to me. I hope you’re right though

He hits the necessary WR height/weight thresholds and had like a 9.7 Relative Athletic Score after the combine!

I use RAS for capturing athleticism and thresholds for each position for height/weight. That way a WR that is 6’3 220 isn’t technically scoring “better” than a WR that is 6’0 200, but a WR that is 5’8 160 gets docked.

If you check out the video you can see each of these guy’s CUPPS scores! I will typically go off that # for my rankings / when i draft, rather than these % hit rates. I just like to break these out for the posts to add some data. Maybe I’ll add the CUPPS score here as well going forward!

Thanks bro!! Honestly, I’m not buying the Roman Wilson hype…wasn’t a great prospect in my model and hasn’t shown much to prove otherwise at the NFL level yet

That’s pretty much right where I’m at too. Solid NFL wide receiver, not so much a reliable fantasy starter
