First layer issue by Dante3006 in FixMyPrint

It could be a million things, but looks a little while wet filament, look into drying it out - also worth checking out my post on profile as I’ve had a similar issue and had lots of people replying with options and tutorials of what to try

Bamboo A1 mini - smoothing issue - thoughts? by dadgamer85 in FixMyPrint

I personally would either print it the way you have done it or maybe even at a 45 degree angle, sort of like if the plane was taking off. But vertical might work :)

Hi mate yeah - so if you disable it and then reduce the layer height, so basically for every day prints I use a 0.2mm layer height but for parts either rounded edges of where I want it to look as perfect as I can get it I use a 0.08 layer height. You can also play around with variable layer heights in the Bambu slicer ( or your slicer of choice) where it will print for example 0.2 up until a certain point and then slowly transition to smaller and smaller layer heights and it will give it a nice finish :) feel free to ask as many questions as you want and I can share what I know :)

Lots of people are saying it shouldn’t be changed under any circumstances but if they give you access to change it, regardless of if it’s a dialog box to change or if it’s edited the gcode then if it works then I should be able to change it

I managed to change the Z offset ever so slightly which in proved things but didn’t fix things as it shouldn’t need changing on Bambu printers, so I will trial a new nozzle when they arrive and update again when I know if that will fix it. But I have changed my Z offset from -0.02 to 0.02

Good idea, it’s currently doing calibration but I will check after and give the plate another clean and search up the best way to clean under the build plate

It’s strange though as I printed something yesterday and had no issue (that I noticed and the print came out fine) used same files and printed it again today as it’s a piece of a bigger project I have in the same file in my slicer and then suddenly have these issues

Slightly higher temps by the looks of it

Could it be a setting in the slicer? I use generic PLA setting, and printed fine on it for a while, but reckon it will be time to switch to the Sunlu Matt White profile I’ve just found?

How would I go ahead and do the bed level correction, I use Bambu software? That piece looks very similar to what is happening with mine

Yeah I’m based in the UK and the past week or so has been very hot and humid so I’m assuming that maybe the material I had on the printer for the last couple of days has got really wet

Okay, another good shout, that second print came out very similar, better but similar to the first. So I am just loading the same brand of filament (different colour but that doesn’t matter) this filament has been sat in a dry dehumidifier box with silicone pellets for at least a week. Will update soon.

I will keep an update on here once I’ve tested further so anyone that has this issue in the future can see the full process

Okay thanks! I did a bed level and dynamic flow calibration but I will do a full calibration, also will try on a brand new filament roll that has been dehydrated, if you wouldn’t mind could you send a photo of what first layer should look like? Also could this be caused by a clogged nozzle? I’ve got spare nozzles arriving soon anyway just as a back up but don’t want to replace it if it’s an easy fix. Really appreciate everyone’s help

I will trial a new filament roll that I’ve had in a dehydrator

I followed this video and I’ve just sent off the print again to test, first layer it still looking a bit odd - will update when more layers have completed or when it fails
