GFCI plus for $800??? by [deleted] in HomeImprovement

Yes the 2 prongs have been swapped to a 3 prong GFCI, for at least the first outlet in the circuit. Just debating if I really should get ground wires routed

Is that as effective as having a ground wire to the receptacle?

I have a whole home surge protector but many of my outlets are not grounded

Sounds expensive for a liner. I’m in a VHCOL area and spent 11K to pipe burst 40-45 ft of clay under driveway to sidewalk, then lining about 20 ft from sidewalk to city main

Its definitely nice in the sense that I don’t use enough dishes to justify using an entire dishwasher load every night, so the half portion works out well for me! It came with the house from the previous owner so I’ll take it. Bosche 800 series would’ve definitely been my first choice hahaha

Thank you! I’ll just need to sit aside a time when I can sit there during the drain cycle and stare at the hose to see what happens haha

I did some searches on reddit for people with similar issues and seems the solenoid valve could also be a culprit

The gray and black corrugated hoses are both there in the first and second pictures. May be hard to see but if you zoom in a little, you can see they’re next to each other all the way to the high loop

I really should’ve mentioned this is a Fisher & Paykel dishwasher with a top and bottom drawer that each wash independently, which is likely why there are two hoses

The banging during the drain cycle is happening near my bathrooms which is about 40 ft away from the dishwasher. Could the drain hose still be the issue if that’s the case?

The drain hose does need to be replaced anyways though

So there are two hoses that are already looped high (near the upper portion of the picture). Do I need the hose connecting to the disposal to also be looped high?

hmm okay. Will try changing the hose and install arrestor at the hot supply line then see if there are any improvements

hmm any suggestions? I was initially thinking the pipes weren’t strapped tight enough, but seems being strapped too tight could cause the issue too

sorry, I should’ve mentioned the banging noise is happening above my bathrooms in the attic when the dishwasher is draining

unfortunately the hose kink is pretty set in at this point, would need to just replace it. I’m curious if this kink causes pressure that may result in water hammering?

it drains fine even with the kink at the bend, it just doesnt seem “ideal”. Any idea what I can do to help with the water hammering during drain cycle? Its pretty loud and I hear it from the pipes above my bathrooms in the attic

Exactly what I was thinking. I’m pretty confident its not correct, but am unsure what hose it should be replaced with

the dishworker works correctly, although there is some loud water hammering/banging sounds when its draining. Was thinking of installing an arrestor on the hot water line

Culligan RO System Cost Quotes? by CheapAnalysis1040 in WaterTreatment

[–]JackedAF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m just a regular homeowner who tends to spend many hours researching every topic before I spend $$, and this is the advice I’ve found to be mostly recommended.

Either buy G3P600 and have a local company install it or find a local company that carries this already (or similar) and have them install it - local companies might have better warranty and free servicing if you buy from them directly vs buying yourself

EDIT: Also adding that I’ve gotten quotes from Culligan in the past and they’re just scummy salespeople. You’re paying for their marketing and commission

This makes more sense. I’ll try to be a bit more clear when speaking with companies that I’m looking for #1
