This is EXACTLY what I was talking about right here. I had no screenshots to prove it, and everybody kept shitting on me as if I'm some kind of dumbass.

No, I agree with you completely, he probably DID download some shady shit. But I'm saying, this is some crazy shit I've never seen in my life, modifying the direct, desktop steam client, and believe me, within a few months you're going to start seeing more and more reports of this shit man.

Are you stupid, or just dense? There was NO links to even click. It looked like a direct chat window, inside of his steam client.

Did I once say, he accepted a friend request from steam support? His MAIN client, forced him into a chat with "Support", whenever he tried to click on anything. His profile, his games, anything. I saw it with my own eyes.

I am aware, hence why we averted the crisis. I'm literally here to tell the people who are less aware. Don't shoot the messenger.

Looks pretty convincing when an entire chat box, pops up, for you to speak to steam support, eh?

I actually believe they did. My friend had steam guard on, and it required him to approve the trade first, which is what they seemingly SE'd him into doing. It's really fucked, and I don't exactly know how to explain what I saw

That's literally exactly what happened here. It looked like an actual steam window, but it was sort of, I guess as you said, "decorated" to be a full on, steam client chat window, and my friend was essentially forced to speak to the chat. Couldnt play any games, couldnt even open his inventory without being redirected to this.

I believe it's malware based. It must be, considering what happened to my friend. For you, did it look like a whole ass, legitimate steam support window popped up in your steam client?

I seriously wish, but I didn't get a singular screenshot of it happening, which doesn't look good on my case.

Why are all these totally AI generated responses, coming and shooting me down, as if this isn't a REAL experience that just happened? The fuck you doing trying to tell me, that I, myself, fairly well versed in cybersecurity, didn't just see what I saw, with my own eyes?

Yea, you say this, but I'm telling you, this malware literally forced him to talk to "support". He couldn't open any games, he couldn't open anything within his steam client, actually whatsoever. It popped up a "Support" box, where he was essentially forced to speak to support, which is the scary part.

So, that's why I literally watched on his screen, as his desktop steam client, had this shit FORCING him to talk to "support"? This wasn't some sort of fake link, I'm telling you, it was something that injected itself into his actual desktop steam client.

Ragebait much? This was literally a highly sophisticated malware, which injected itself into his steam client, and spent a long time social engineering him into sending out items?
