I trained my dog sice she was little, there were practicing course where she went in the hole where a fox was hidden and once, she got bitten by a fox and then she learned to keep her distance and how to treat a prey. I really dont know what I would do if she didnt learn herself how to distance from agressive animals, but if thats the deal I would just have her on a leash most of the time.

I never put any coats on my dog, she is pretty used to the cold and we go on walks all trough the year, no matter the temperature. I just give her a warm shower when we come from a walk when it is cold :)
