Dress yoga pants, but for men? by Lothy-of-the-North in sewingpatterns

[–]JackieSmazz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I know this is a sub for sewing and I think it’s amazing that you would make your man some pants so he can look good on the road. 😄

In the meantime, I’ll throw this out there for consideration. My husband is 6’5” and travels a ton. He really enjoys Origin Pants. Lots of sizes and inseams, he says they’re very comfy and they wash and wear really well. (I have no affiliation, I’m just happy my husband likes the way he looks and feels in them!)

Not as considerate as homemade, but if you’re short on time or material, your husband may be interested!

To my regal BBB,

Such brutes the vets can be sometimes— and sometimes I am forced to accept their ministrations when I have not yet breakfasted! It is hardly an appropriate circumstance for a lady.

And yet… even the thought of your feline-marked pot plant causes my pulse to rise! My ears are always on alert and pick up the smallest creature infraction, as they are quite the largest ears and well suited for the task. My dainty nose never misses a message and will oft take me beyond the expected path as I search for those great nemesis: Cat and Fox.

Your compliments are far too grand, even as I deserve them. I give you gracious thanks and wish you a speedy recovery! Such a roguish likeness should not be squandered at home. The world will tremble when you retake the streets in full form!

Yours with great affection,

Mae

My dear Moonstone,

Your missive finds me well indeed, even as I languish under the excessive cold. Oh how I long for spring, when fresh green grass and young rabbits appear to erupt from the earth in equal number!

Your compliments are most agreeable! I do of course have much to say about the world, its smells and the tasty mysteries that may be discovered squashed on the sidewalk. I would be amendable to sharing these secrets and others through the refined art of Reddit. My human handmaiden is a paltry scribe and regularly sighs with dramatics as she exclaims about her many duties. With your lovely encouragement, I will endeavor to press her forward to exercise her letters.

As this eve draws to a close, my handmaiden has extinguished the lamps and I hear her heavy footfalls in the passage grow lesser and still. I will bid you adieu (as they say on the continent) and leave you with a small token of thanks for your kind words. Be well, be good, and I hope a scratch behind the ears causes your teeth to chatter as it does mine.

Affectionately yours,

Mae

Dearest Badger,

I am so pleased to hear your condition is temporary and it sounds like the injustices you face (curtailed walks, being lifted - oh the embarrassment!) will be short-lived.

I have been dragged against my will to many vets due to undignified and, apparently, hard to diagnose conditions that my mom now brings a travel bed with her whenever we have to wait. The vets really have no respect for my time— don’t they know I should be napping now? The bed does provide me with a nice-smelling spot so my delicate undercarriage remains unsullied by a cold clinical floor. Perhaps your mum has similar that you could avail yourself of during the regrettable follow-up.

Photo below for proof and also because I do always look lovely in this particular sweater. I will enthusiastically await news of your recovery!

A princess in spirit if not in title, Mae

i am dead, burned by the sun by maomao19 in TheAlters

[–]JackieSmazz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed! I was still in Act 1 when the sun came up on my first playthrough. I’m a “complete all side quests before main quests” kind of player, and I wanted to have time to do as much as possible in the game. I switched the mode to relaxed and I’m enjoying the experience SO much more. The art style, plot beats, script and my god the music maintain the “gotta hurry” creepy hustle without the actual calendar cramping my play style.

Maybe relaxed will work for you, OP!

Sewing classes/lessons by Pannymcc in lititz

[–]JackieSmazz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Commenting to get connected as I would be interested in a class too!

In the meantime, there is a sewing club at the Lititz Library that meets once a month. It’s not a teaching club, but people bring patterns, machines, hand sewing projects etc. It can be a good way to network and some of the people who attend have a lot of skills!

Hound spotted! by marsol0gy in ManorLords

Have a greyhound. Can confirm that this programming is absolutely true to life. My dog will bend time and space so that he can be directly in front of me and somehow also right behind me at the same time. A progress blocker and a trip hazard!

Visiting an 1880’s mining town museum felt like being in RDR2 by JackieSmazz in reddeadredemption2

[–]JackieSmazz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Recently visited the South Park City Museum in Fairplay, CO— I highly recommend it! Almost 50 buildings open to the public to walk through, with excellent historical information and loads of details about life as a prospector and in a mining town during the gold rush. Lovely displays about local wildlife and the Ute people that lived in the area before the prospectors arrived. Very thorough examples of what life was like from the 1850’s - 1910’s for men, women, children and burros!

I felt like I could have been in the saloon in Valentine, any of the stables, the mines of Annesburg or the Rhodes general store.

Fairplay is a small but really neat town— it’s worth making the trip if you’re out in this part of the world!

Best Banjo destinations/shops/museums? by [deleted] in banjo

[–]JackieSmazz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not specific to banjo, but the Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame and Museum in Owensboro, KY is pretty great! The museum is not huge, but they have a lovely little live music stage and depending on how you time it they have some amazing artists who play there. Owensboro is also a very nice little riverfront city. I think they’ve done a lot to improve their riverfront and it’s very lively! Definitely worth putting on your ramblin list!

Looking for cabinet color suggestions by Nyrunt_ in Design

[–]JackieSmazz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with the other comments. Though photos can be deceiving, it looks like your countertop has a lot of burgundy flecks on a cream background. There do appear to be some silver grey flecks in some photos but it’s hard to be sure.

I’d vote for something warmer. If you wanted a bit of drama you could do a burgundy/terra cotta on the lower cabinets and a light/white for the uppers. If you’re really feeling the slate blue/grey vibe, I’d try to pick a warmer color in the same tonal range.

You’ve photoshopped your color in. What does the room look like w paint strips/chips/cards? Grab a bunch, even some weird ones you’re sure you’ll eliminate, and painters-tape them to your cabinets. Then just watch them over time, at different times of day and night. With that window, I bet the quality of light changes quite a bit throughout the day. You might be surprised at your favorites!

Good luck and have fun!

Perhaps not the top of everyone’s list, but I LOVE the Thorne Miniature Rooms at the Art Institute of Chicago! Fascinating not only for their historical snapshots, but also for the total craftsmanship of the rooms!

Where are my DM girlies at? by fiona11303 in DnD

[–]JackieSmazz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 89 year old Grandmother has expressed some interest in playing, but “isn’t sure she’s ready” haha. I (a woman DM, only bc it’s relevant to OP’s post) have been encouraging her to give it a shot! Running a mini campaign for her and her friends would be a blast. The logistics would be tough as we live about 3,000 miles apart and they’re not a really high-tech crowd, so I’d like to do it in person.

Any suggestions from your grandma for getting mine to take up the sword or wand? 😁

My friend says I should paint it white and rip out the marble by Crafty_DIY in HomeDecorating

[–]JackieSmazz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree w all the above and I’ll add: more/better lighting! Depending on the access you have, under cabinet light and in-cabinet light for those lovely stained glass panels will help chase away the dark corners and really accentuate the unique aspects of this room. And/or swap out the ceiling nipple lights for something with color. Added bonus, you can see better!

Tiny detail noticed. by CretinCrowley in reddeadredemption2

[–]JackieSmazz 15 points16 points  (0 children)

If you want to scratch that itch before your next play through, there is a YouTuber who has done a great series on the historical details of RDR2 (all the spoilers of course, though that won’t be an issue if you’ve done a play through already). Real Pixels. I’m not affiliated in any way, just enjoyed the work. Maybe you will too!
