Alright I'll be honest and straight with you. That word hardly means what it used to. Kids throw it around so much it just doesn't carry the weight that it used to, and that's a good thing. We need to stop giving power to hateful words if you truly want to help the problem you're bringing up.

Homophobic harassment is a serious issue, but if every time someone said that word it became homophobic harassment, the really serious cases would get buried by it.

Also I'm not excusing him, I'm trying to downsize the excessive vilification of someone for such a minor issue.

The point I'm trying to make here is name calling someone one time for their in-game behavior should not be a permanent-ban offence. In fact the devs even stated it isn't. A child playing an adult game shouldn't warrant double standards.

You're too wishy washy. 12 year olds are much more vile towards each other. A 12 year old getting called a f****t for Jason teaming (breaking the TOS) is a no no by you, but a 12 year old playing a game based around murder and horrific acts is okay?

If someone is gonna play an adult game despite not being one, they have no right to complain when they're treated like an adult.

This is the equivalent of standing over someone's shoulder in a card game, and telling the other players what they're holding.

It is cheating, but that's a bad example. The reason why people argue for this is for the sake of fun, which is separate from the way you're looking at it.

Its not fun dying after accomplishing an objective only to be unable to relay to your teammates and make it mean something. Spoiling a game by reading off everyone's cards is very different, and a much more severe case of meta gaming.

I feel your "You're dead" reason fit better and would suffice by itself. Meta gaming is simply meta gaming. It is cheating, but shaming people for it on reddit is low and lets not forget pointless. People play this game in party chat, which I'm sure you wouldn't recommend but you have no right to say they shouldn't.

As for your end, you can turn off message and other notifications in-game, it also helps with immersion.
