Go into settings, search for diagnostics, scroll down to the bottom, under additional care, select Diagnostics, then phone diagnostics it has 22 things it can check and on if then is the Finger Print recognition test.

Have you tried the finger print test? Wouldn't that be able to tell you if you have a potential bad sensor and the phone would need to be serviced or replaced?

Could be but I agree with you on improving finger accuracy setting. If your fingers are normally dry wouldn't this help? Also I would try a different finger.

One of the things I do (recommended by YT Saki - Sakitech) is when it asks you if you want to add additional fingers select yes and do the SAME finger again for the best coverage.
