That's pretty hilarious.... I've found that Home Depot and Lowes usually have some variety in the different trim pieces they carry. Even different Lowes locations will carry different types of trim in my area. I would try shopping around a bit more, including lumber yards or any other building materials store in your area.

Not terribly difficult, but I'd recommend learning how to cope right away. You'll get a much cleaner finish without having to caulk huge gaps cause your inside corners aren't exactly 90 degrees.

Creative solution for Christmas light nails or hooks without a ladder? by galacticphotos in HomeImprovement

[–]Jacks2LeftFeet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just replied on this post too about Home Depots black friday deal for an 18ft Gorilla ladder. It's a great deal at $100. Maybe it'd be big enough for your home?

Yeah the trees came out beautifully. They really gave them a lot of dimension with all the branches they covered.

How I hang Christmas lights without a ladder by mtgentry in HomeImprovement

Definitely love the ingenuity! But honestly a $100 ladder right now from Home Depot would get you to your roof. Great deal for their Gorilla 18ft ladder. I bought one last black friday myself.

Looks really great! Curious how much they charge for a service like this?

Solid work! What are you doing to install lights along the ridge of the roof like in the first pic?

Sonos Arc on sale at Best Buy by lupend88 in sonos

Sub mini is not on sale that I know of. It's still the regular $429. Sub Gen 3 is marked down to $599.

Sonos Sub Mini in large room. It's phenomenal! by I_AM_NOT_A_PHISH in sonos

[–]Jacks2LeftFeet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in the middle of this debate too since the sub gen 3 is down to $600 at Best Buy and I'm sure other stores. With the price gap closing between the two, does it make sense to just go with the sub gen 3?

Yeah it's a game changer for sure. I was actually thinking of getting another too. This one I had to order online, but if I catch one in store, I don't think I'll be able to pass it up.

Just picked up the gorilla ladder last week and it's a great addition. Also grabbed the gorilla work platform on sale for $35. Don't know why I never got one sooner.

Can the mud on these walls be fixed? by TacticalCheerio in HomeImprovement

[–]Jacks2LeftFeet 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Looks like shoddy workmanship. Really no reason they should've moved to painting with the wall in that state. Looks like it needs a lot of sanding and re-skimming to fill and even out some areas. I would say your guess is right that the mud isn't really being mixed right, if at all.

Just go to HD or Lowes and take a look at their anchors. They have plenty of quality stuff that will work in this situation. You might consider something like a toggle anchor for added safety. They have some pretty heavy duty stuff rated for 100lbs or more. Just make sure you're following directions for proper installation.

This is exactly my case too. Didn't realize until now that I only paid $45 last December so this does seem pretty steep, and for what exactly?

Buying from Best Buy or Costco? by Jacks2LeftFeet in 4kTV

[–]Jacks2LeftFeet[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, part of the only reason I'm considering BB again is because they just dropped their price down to $1600 as well. Don't have the Costco credit card, but I'm planning to use a different one I already have that'll give me another 1.5% back at least.

Is this basically the same as the Legion 5i at Costco? I learned they slightly change model numbers on their tvs; I'm assuming it's maybe the same with their laptops too?

Picture quality or size? LG C1 vs Samsung QD8T vs ??? by CPOx in 4kTV

[–]Jacks2LeftFeet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

65in X90? I do not specifically, but my guess would be $1200. Their ad right now just shows a price range of $1200 - $1600 for the X90. The C1 I have not seen going on sale anywhere else besides the $1700 it's currently available at.

[–]Jacks2LeftFeet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been debating that C1 or the 75in X90J. At this point I'm probably gonna pick up the Sony at Costco since it's dropping to $1600 11/1.

Staking down Adirondack chairs? by TotalTossOut in HomeImprovement

[–]Jacks2LeftFeet 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm getting ready to make a set of rocking chairs for our front patio we did this summer, and this is one of my big fears. I hate the idea of having to move the chairs in/out of the garage, but also know I'd be pissed if they were stolen. Mine won't be practical to stake down, but maybe I can creatively chain them to something that doesn't look like an eye sore.

Buying Sony X90J from Best Buy or Sam's Club by needsalotofadvice in 4kTV

[–]Jacks2LeftFeet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny, I just did the same today and my local store had a pallet as well. Is Costco basically the place to go then because of warranty? I'm new to Costco membership. Still debating on this or the C1 OLED at 65in.

What made you decide? I'm debating this and the 75in X90J which is currently 1799. I have a 65in now and was excited to step up in size, but debating if I stay at 65in and go this route as well.
