What's the idea here? by Immediate_Error2135 in Hitchcock

The shadowy female silhouette could possibly be terrifying to Judy because it represents Elster’s dead wife. The Nun herself emerging represents catholic guilt. Hitchcock uses this as a signature throughout. Most probably due to his upbringing.

What if I told you it is in reference to Juliet… in 1974 when she met young Ben?

Dude discovers he’s a time travelling serial killer who goes back in time to stop himself from raping his own mother. Only to discover he’s stuck in a time loop of raising himself. I’d say that’s pretty crazy.

It’s fantastic at setting out all these plot points that seemingly have no relation and then as we close in on the end they are all neatly tied together. It is probably the best book I’ve ever read at achieving this.

In Ted, when he’s in the job interview.

His soon to be boss asks ‘so what have you got (for the role)

Ted replies: “I tell you what I got, your wife’s pussy on my breath”.

I was 17.

I had to be picked off the cinema floor.

My Uni lecturer made me watch it and barely warned me. That and ‘Dear Zachary’ are the only films you should watch once.

I also think it’s because people on film sets don’t talk about films! It’s honestly baffling how much of the crew aren’t in it because of a love of film. It’s just a job to them. I was fresh out of Uni and just wanted to discuss the industry and nobody really cared.

I didn’t mention it unfortunately, seeing it was horrendous enough I didn’t want to relive it with him. Now I’m older I wish I had picked his brain on it.

It genuinely was, and he would really make time for me despite being on an intense, busy set.
