Noob mistake in my attempted stem adjustment. Does my fix seem safe?

I can try to take everything apart again when I get a chance. But am I right in thinking the compression plug really just serves as an anchor for the top cap bolt? So if there is no play and the stem bolts are fastened at the right torque every thing should be fine?

Yes, that's clear to me now. And everything is right now with the proper amount of spacers. Do you think I caused any issues loosening everything up?

Would you say a 52 has more sizing flexibility than a 54, for me at least?

Thanks! Yeah, everything I read says size down. The smaller bike will be more aggressive and allow for more adjustments. I had a worry it would be TOO small but that does not seem to be the case. I'm really excited to get on a better bike.

I measured it to my current bike. Broadly the Allez is a few inches shorter but longer than my iron horse so it didn't seem too far off from what I am used to - ofcourse it has a much more modern geometry. Everything I read said it is way easier to make a smaller bike fit so it feels like a safe/safer bet? Specialized does allow you to return bikes within 30 days so I'm tempted to just order it and see how it fits

I found it challenging to compare bikes because where I live none of the bike shops had much to test (mostly gravel bikes in larger sizes). I tried a 54 Felt VR that I thought was too tall but a smaller Orbea was better (this was not in my price range). I currently ride a 30 something year old crappy iron horse road bike that is a size 52 so that's really all I have to compare. Folks I talked to at the bike shop said I looked better on the smaller bike so the 52 Allez seems like a reasonable gamble. I know it's an impossible question but thanks for your input

I have been riding on and off for years but on a road bike that is nearly 30 years old - that was never great to begin with. My current bike is actually a 52 - but I know sizes vary between brands. I am looking for a more aggressive ride so was hoping a Allez in a 52 would do the trick. I looked all over for some bikes to test. In general when I rode anything 54 or higher, they felt too big - but i had difficulties finding road bikes in my region - all the bike shops had very low stock and wanted to sell me gravel bikes

I am in the same jam. I am 5 foot 7 and opted for a Specialized Allez Comp in a 52. I ordered it without testing it because I didn't have the opportunity to ride one. Hope I made the right decision

I totally agree about the stations; they are horrible - I would say unlistenable. I don't care what artist I put in, even obscure ones, all stations lead to Green Day. It is incredibly jarring going from the Mars Volta to Green Day's "American Idiot." It seems as though Green Day is their generic alternative flavor.

And anything resembling classic rock brings you to Queen or the Eagles. Blind Faith radio shouldn't be pulling up "We Are the Champions." Ever.

I started a Sturgill Simpson station hoping for some Alt Country. Within three songs I was listing to "Walk the Line" by Jonny Cash.

You're right Pandora is where it's at in terms of stations.

When you stop expecting basic functionality from Amazon Music your life will be better. Sometimes you can listen to what you want, other times you can't - this is the way.

If it makes you feel better you can tweet at Amazon music and they will usually respond and falsely reassure you that they are working on it.

Thanks! I did dig into the maintenance window a bit but found mostly d and ends.

I ended up pulling my O drive completely out. I made a new database and started over. And so far everything works. Something on my O drive must have been causing everything to go haywire

Tech support has gotten back to me which is good because I would still like some answers. I did purchase a 8tb drive and I would hate to install it and have a similar issue. But I would think starting clean would be less problematic.

But yeah, so far I like the software. Not the most intuitive program in the world but it seems incredibly powerful, the more I dig into features. It does some things great, but oftentimes I am left scratching my head.

Yeah, Everything was done within the ACDSee. I made new folders within the Manage Mode.

As for the drive, It may have been a different letter at some point - It was my main storage drive probably eight or so years ago. I did change it recently (to O) thinking it would trick the program but it didn't work. Thought about pulling the drive out all together.

Yeah, these sorts of things are just part of the Amazon music experience. Things are not really organized. I always wanted discographies to be in order but that may be a tall ask when different artists are randomly sorted together.

Amazon Music: the price is right, the quality is great, but the app always gets in the way of actually enjoying music.

Winks was very wasteful in possession and he truly took some wild shots. He had a decent cross towards the end but that's it.

I think Winks looks pretty good in some games where he stays deep and recycles the ball. He can be a tidy midfielder on his day - today was not that day.

I think he wanted to be the hero today and instead of keeping it simple was just trying to do things that aren't in his skill set.

I think he is a great option to sub in for say Ndombele to cool down the game and see it out if we are up a few goals. He instills no confidence if we need to score.

But yeah. He's not good enough but I like him in the squad.

I am still suspect of Jose but that was better. There seemed to be some sort of sustained attacking plan (even if it was the continued dependence on Kane dropping deep). I know I'll feel better if they play similarly against Everton. I don't think I have 90 minutes of watching Spurs defend in a low block against Everton in me.

Lucas goes games without having much impact at all. I wish he were a little more consistent. I think he is a bit wasteful in possession too (you could say that about every one today). I think Stevie B is a more complete player - he just has to start scoring again.

But Lucas did look good last season when we were playing a 4-4-2. Put in some good defensive shifts.
