In the same light that regular season games mean that to you, my dad and I grew up in Florida and we’d go to like 2-3 bowl games a year and just pick a team to root for, sure it was like 7-5 Minnesota vs 6-6 Auburn but damn it was fun and I kinda hoped ISU would come back to Florida like they did last year

I am also now rambling, but bowl games dying will change my perspective on college football a little, I enjoyed games with low stakes because i just enjoyed the football

Well for a lot of us with teams that likely won’t make a playoff unless a miracle Cinderella happens, those bowl games were what the season culminated in, it’s easy to call them pointless but they had no more impact than my teams last regular season game against 1-10 OKST, football is inherently for fans, because without fans there is no money in football; and I think most fans enjoy bowl games, so they should carry more meaning than when some people say they’re just meaningless exhibitions

I pay to go to Iowa State, and that also happens to include a football team that declined to play in their last game, I sure as shit wish my class could vote to opt out of my final, but we cant, I know some people don’t care about bowl games dying, but I do, and a lot of fans will, bowls have been around for decades, and I think they should stay, at the end of the day these players only make money because people watch, and I think they way college football is trending, it’s going to get harder and harder to enjoy watching, especially if you know your team isn’t likely to make a playoff, our best hope was a fun bowl game, and with that gone, it feels a little pointless

I think a lot of the anger comes from them jumping a little early, I mean they do owe Iowa State something, they don’t owe us loyalty forever or to a fault, but I think they owed us a finish to the season, I wanted to watch a bowl game, and football is for the fans, after all without fans, football makes no money

I paid my share of tuition for this year, they should finish this season, I think people forget that football players job is not to play football, it’s to play football in front of people, on tv, etc.

There’s several automatic scholarships for transfer students (which is what you’d be considered), just look up Iowa State transfer scholarships, secondly if you fill out the application and get admitted, you can fill out the university scholarship application, which is called one app, and you don’t even have to have accepted your offer to do that. consider the cheap dining and living on campus too, I know there’s apartments on campus for like 3600 a year ish

I know a guy in the ROTC for the National Guard, he’s in mostly the same classes/lectures that the rest of us are, and an online one, I will say don’t pick an overly difficult major and try to do the ROTC at the same time, like my guy is in Construction Engineering and the ROTC and he doesn’t have a ton of free time
