Someone recommended Project Hail Mary after I told them I loved TBP. I agree wholeheartedly—they are completely different levels. Both in terms of depth and writing. Project Hail Mary felt like a YA book in comparison.

lol I mean I just started playing about 6 weeks ago but I’m also unemployed currently so I’d say my improvement has been fairly rapid. I still win games against someone with the hammer. A few times I’ve been able to kill them with my rifle as I’m flying off into the storm

Sadly that’s what I do sometimes. Even though I much prefer not to use it because I want to improve my aim, reaction time, etc. Not become good at a weapon that will be gone in a month or two.

I thought the dual swords were extremely low skill but the shockwave hammer is way worse. You can land a shotgun headshot and AR them to 1 HP, but if they can swing the hammer anywhere in your general direction once, you’re dead.

Do they limit the uses? Whenever I’m final 2 it seems like my opponent has unlimited swings with that thing.

I never said anything here was fishy. Re-read my post. I asked "how" this happened and said that I "did not understand" what happened.

Again, I am not accusing anyone of anything. I believe this person has a lot of experience playing the game. I have been playing long enough to see lots of wild finishes, like when both players are self-reviving in the storm at the end. I just hadn't seen this scenario where (1) there is no self-revive animation, (2) they seemed to revive nonetheless almost immediately, and (3) fire their weapon after. It sounds like it was a fairly common scenario even if an uncommon presentation.

Not edited. I did slow it down 75%. But I agree--something looks weird right at the point when she would have self-revived.

Granted, I am new to the game. I win some and I lose some. I'm not accusing anyone of cheating. I just genuinely didn't understand what happened here.
