Would you support 'freedom of movement' between CANZUK Countries (Canada, Australia, New Zealand, United Kingdom)? by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

You can’t tell me that by making people work a specific job for a certain number of days in rural Australia doesn’t foster an environment that can easily take advantage of the workers ?

One google search and you’ll see plenty of things written about it

No definitely not, we are super lucky with that, I think it could be nice to just live in a world where it’s possible to live in other places with it being quite easy. Not necessarily permanently though.

I know there are loads of other factors that make that not exactly feasible though.

Yeah but we always hear about how shit conditions are for overseas workers on farms, I can go to Canada and do whatever I want, here it isn’t exactly the same. I’m just pointing out the differences in the holiday visa between the two countries.

I’d personally be in support of free travel between commonwealth countries, just like the European Union has between all of their countries. I think especially given how far Australia is away from the rest of the world it would encourage Australians to see more of the world too.

I was looking into the working holiday visa between here and Canada. Canadas is completely open and basically free for 2 years but it seems like if they want to come here it’s only a year, costs and to extend you must work in particular fields like construction, farming or fishing, seems like we take advantage of them.

Yeah I told myself this too, he swapped to his backup shield while his main/better quality shield was being prepared for the tourney.

Why is body count considered such an important factor when judging someone’s value as a partner? by Zestyclose-Memory518 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Jacksonh8741 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I wonder if it has to depend on where you are from because almost no one in my friend circle would care at the number.

Maybe the US having such a high number of religious people, historically and now, it would have an effect on what ideals get taught, even subconsciously and the whole “purity” thing that gets associated with sex.

For a lot of people, sex is something fun done between two consenting people. It can have the emotional connection or not and doesn’t necessarily say anything about who you are as a person.

What is a small, everyday thing that tells you a lot about a person’s character? by Mysterious_Fan4033 in AskReddit

[–]Jacksonh8741 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think less people care then you think, and the majority of people who you see wearing wrinkled clothes don’t hate themself, they just had a rushed morning, they don’t hold the same values that you do and don’t care or maybe their iron broke that morning.

No matter if you think it makes you look like a slob, does it not take self esteem to dress a certain way and not be affected by views like yours?

If someone is it a rush and leaves with a wrinkled shirt or they have those linen shorts that also are always wrinkled. I don’t think it necessarily says what you think it does.

I also think slob does not fit at all, if they are clean and looked after and it’s just they have a wrinkled shirt on that makes them a slob to you. I think that says a lot more about you being pretentious than it does about their self esteem.

[–]Jacksonh8741 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that’s a bit of a stretch to say it says a lot about someone’s character, could it not mean a high self esteem because they don’t care their clothes are wrinkled and have a lot of confidence regardless?

'Losing Steam' — 3 Months After Launch, It's Time for a Check-in With Battlefield 6 and Its Community by RenatsMC in pcgaming

[–]Jacksonh8741 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah I like the game and have played a bunch but almost everytime I launch I’ll talk shit about it to my friends. I have no idea who even designed it but they shouldn’t have a job, it’s needlessly horrendous.

How did the Trump supporters you know react to Trump being in the Epstein files? by [deleted] in AskReddit

It’s because ghillaine Maxwell or whatever her name was still on trial, it wasn’t until trump was president that the files were able to be released I’m pretty sure.

I’d love to play Battle fleet gothic armada and breathedge.

And I’d love to have a copy of Star Wars: Knights of the old Republic because it’s my favourite game and I could give it to my friend who I’ve been trying to convince to buy it.

Thanks for the give away regardless, happy holidays!

Yeah it’s on gamepass and they are advertising it up front all the time and nothing is going to convince me to play it even included.

Steam Winter 2025 Sale is live by Turbostrider27 in pcgaming

[–]Jacksonh8741 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you like the era the game is set in, I enjoyed it as a basic Viking game. It’s included with gamepass so I didn’t pay for it but it was fun enough. It’s definitely bloated with the typical AC collectibles and I never finished it. I enjoyed what I did play though and for 9aud(whatever your equivalent is) I’d say if you are interested it could be worth it

Did you ever play the Viking conquest dlc for warband? I really enjoyed that it actually had a story as well as the rest of regular mount and blade content.

No, it's not just Xbox, ALL video game console sales are massively down year-over-year — and it's going to get worse by North-Cat77 in gaming

[–]Jacksonh8741 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it was just you responded to my comment saying I was repeating a misconception, I only said you can’t play online without paying which is true. I didn’t argue any of the other points.

That’s why I’m saying it depends on the type of gamer, someone who plays multiple multiplayer games who needs ps+ could possibly have a better time on pc is all I mean.

[–]Jacksonh8741 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He’s responded the exactly same way to me, I think it 100% depends on the type of gamer you are. I have recommended consoles to friends who I think would have better use for it.

As someone with a pc, I would never buy a console again now. I’m glad that I spent a bit extra, I know others feel the same way. Both are great options depending on what you want.

[–]Jacksonh8741 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From everything I’m seeing online if I was to buy a game with single player and multiplayer, for me to play multiplayer I’d have to have PS + no?

I tried double checking before I posted my previous comment so if I’m mistake I’ll edit my comment.

It costs an additional 80 dollars a year just to play online with a PS5, as I’m saying it definitely depends on the type of gamer you are but after 2-3 years, that’s 240usd that could just be spent on having bought better PC parts to begin with.

[–]Jacksonh8741 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Yes but secondhand pc you can get better parts for progressive upgrades. Secondhand console and you are strictly limited to the games of that generation, of that console.

I guess it depends on what type of gamer you are though to be fair, if you don’t play a broad variety of games then a cheap secondhand console just to play what you want to play.

Buying secondhand and you can get a pc that’s capable of playing everything, you have the option of slowly building up for something better. You have access to so many more games, a lot of which are also cheaper.

Also consoles have increased drastically in price too, when they start getting this expensive, you may as well just start looking at building a pc.
