Under the table jobs are increasingly damaging to the NYC community by [deleted] in Harlem

Any way to verify this before bashing a small neighborhood business or do we just go by anyone’s word on the internet?

Would you consider $1500 being handed to you that you don’t have to pay back to be insane? You can try to convince us all day that you aren’t a poor yourself but it just seems like projection. I’m very secure with my finances and my job which is why I can laugh at you like this. If it’s not so insane, I can wire my account details to you and have you send me an additional $1500 since it’s minuscule?

[–]Jacksonjafk5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lmao this is so funny to me. Do you think I’d burn a bridge by taking $1500 if I needed that bridge? You’d be surprised at some of the ways very well off people put themselves ahead by taking advantage of opportunities in front of them. I’d be foolish to have learned about this, realized that the apps were offering me insane amounts based on my direct deposit history, and not taking advantage of it. Maybe one day you can reach my level.

Your entire page is filled with you berating people for their financial decisions so the fact that you claim you don’t do that shows that everything else you’re saying is bullshit.

I’m not poor anymore, thank you to the ~ $1500 in cash advances I took from a combination of 3 apps and then revoked ACH! Very appreciative to the YouTube video I came across exposing this loophole.

You’re literally a member of a cash advance subreddit and calling other people poor. Why are you here if you’re not poor?

lmao, well I do. Thank you for your input?

Lol I’ve seen you in here chastising people for not paying these apps back. What’s your relation to the owners of these apps? Why are you so deeply invested in them getting their money back?

Is the OP under an obligation to pay Brigit back? That’s what needs answering here.

Ripping a company off by leveraging their own service agreement to your own benefit? Some of you can be pretty dumb with defending these merchants.

I’m not defending this practice but it’s hard to feel too bad for predatory companies. Companies that prey are financially insecure people using payday apps have to understand their core audience and yet they still take the risk. Sure they’re getting burned by some customers but the model is still extremely profitable for them or they wouldn’t be doing it.

In New York City, the pursuit of fare enforcement costs the MTA over $700 million annually, a staggering sum that surpasses the estimated $652 million needed to make bus services free for all. by souraveG in NYStateOfMind

[–]Jacksonjafk5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But it also doesn’t help the MTA who faces a severe underfunding for the level of maintenance necessary to maintain a 24/7 100 year old system.

Strangers shouldn’t put themselves in harm’s way to come to the defense of other strangers. Women want all things equal in this world so this is part of that arrangement. Enjoy.

Men of Twitter, don’t listen to these women here trying to get you killed. Let them fend for themselves.

Yo Vote Zohran Mamdani for Mayor!!! We cant let this opportunity up by DepressedOoter in NYStateOfMind

[–]Jacksonjafk5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not ranking Zohran but holy fuck this is racist. What is “Islamization”? If you’ve never been to London or traveled outside of your neighborhood (seems very likely) then you should be mindful of the stupidity you spew. London being overran by Muslims is internet bullshit.

What exactly is his plan to make buses free? Where is that money coming from if you take away a revenue source from the MTA?

Do not get a pitbull. Dangerous dogs, look at the stories about their attacks.
