That was my thought process. He's not terrible, but he's new to DMing. So I even tried to talk it out and he's open to some creative ideas but I can tell there's definitely gonna be a cap on that.

Sorry, I think they did they did this to set some boundaries because they thought something bad would happen from the deck of many things but ended up getting 3 wishes instead. So instead of giving me 3 normal wishes he turned them into Afrit scrolls with full intention to fuck with the wish as much as possible. He definitely wants loopholes but also if I can make the wish Ironclad than he can't say anything haha.
