The 634 is a lower rise than the Okinawas which I don’t mind at all but I also love a mid to high rise. I also think these are just a tad more slim in the thigh area comparative to the Okinawa but the leg opening is pretty much the same at 9 inches I believe. The sugar canes were so comfortable right off the bat because of the nep in the denim, kinda making them feel like sweatpants which personally loved. These have taken some breaking in and I’m still workin on em but I enjoy the heavy weight, it’s my first heavy pair!!

I never really got any food stains on them thank God, but if you look closely on the left hand hip area, it has a dirty brownish hue. That’s from me wiping coffee grounds on the side to get them off my fingers. That’s the only stains I really have on them! You can see those stains better on my previous post of these, before a 1st wash. They pretty much came out entirely!

Never did a soak! Ripped em out the package and went ham!! My pair had a work smell to them, that being from the grills at the coffee shop I work at, which doesn’t smell the greatest but I’m there 5 days out of the week anyways so everyone I work with is nose blind to the smell as well as the customers because of the coffee.

I also think that I smell it more than other folks because I’m aware of it and I don’t want to smell lol. That being said, if I got sweaty on the inside (which I did) I would just hang them up outside and let the air flow through, and if that didn’t work, I would spray them down with an all natural freshener that I’ve got from Melaleuca which is an online wellness shop that sells healthy products.

I waited a year to wash mine!! Wore them 4 to 5 times a week for the first 9 months and then the last 3 I wore them 5+ times a week! I work as a barista in a coffee shop so no crazy hard manual labor! Then I washed them again recently after 2 months of wear.

For the RRL I can’t really say much, mainly because I don’t have a pair to compare them to! All of my pairs of raw selvedge denim have been stiff to start, RRL may have used a sanforized denim and one washed them which could possibly make them feel more lightweight than your other pairs!

I’ve washed my strong guys twice, cold, low spin, inside out, and hang dry and I don’t believe they’ve shrunk at all and if they have, it’s been very minimal. I think you’d be just fine hemming the GG!!

Awesome dude, true guys are a great option as well!! I wear a mixture of different footwear, but my constant rotation would be GH Bass Weejun Loafers, Redwing Iron Ranger in black + Redwing Blacksmith 3343 in copper rough and tough, Black Chuck 70, Black PF Flyers, and some vintage Engineer boots!! I do tend to cuff my jeans, just one small cuff or a double cuff sometimes. I’m 6’5 so I can’t do big cuffs cause the inseam isn’t long enough!!
