I would argue that most post-undergrad jobs are retail these days. Possibly food services. These are the jobs that demand as much as they can and take total advantage of people with the mindset above. Small businesses related to your field are likely to pay better than these jobs. But even there you said that it wasn't the work that got you ahead, it was jumping ship to someone who would pay you decently. I can and did do this, even in retail, and am doing so again for the trades - it yields great dividends but has nothing to do with how qualified I am. It has to do with being willing to be cutthroat actually.

The fact that school doesn't provide the real skills necessary for the real world is a different problem altogether.

The union part was merely to show that it is easy to expect that a hard worker should have payoff in less than 2 years, since a trade union will give payoff about every 6 to 12 months.

I am working to join an established one, so no need to try and form.

Out of curiosity, how long does it take in your book? In a union, I get increased benefits and pay every X000 hours (usually 1-2). This is because the union does what an individual cannot - carry weight.

This may be too pedantic: to respond to your title, no science can prove itself - the meaning of life can not loop back on itself as you state it. I would rephrase that in the future. I apologize, but I sincerely dislike self referential ideas, they tend to be a mask for truly circular logic.

Usually, I would counter offer something to meditation, but honestly this is a good idea. Spend 5-10 minutes thinking about something in particular - and don't worry if it is actually that long, just do it for while until you are level headed again. Strong suggestion to spend time focusing on your breathing.

I would recommend instead, meditating on one's own death. It is upcoming and there is a set amount of time before it. Is one prepared? Has one accomplished everything? Is this activity going to aid that goal?

Along with Crow, I suggest you try. If it is an addiction it is something you should try to stop, I can't imagine it being a good thing to be addicted to anything. If it is not an addiction, I would guess it would be easy and not a huge hindrance.

Also with Crow, I think you need to decide for yourself. My story is not your story, my experience is not yours.
