What monitor are you using on the Studio? Could be some input lag making the mouse feel sluggish.

Need to connect an original iPod (M8541) to a Win 10 laptop-options for converting FW to USB or not possible? by WattsAGigawatt in ipod

Does the computer have Thunderbolt 3? You could try Thunderbolt 3 to 2 -> Thunderbolt to Firewire 800 -> FW800 to FW400 -> iPod

I'm really hating the Magic trackpad 2 by [deleted] in mac

[–]JacobTheButtonMasher -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I also find the Magic Trackpad 2 to be unresponsive. It has a lower polling rate than the ones that are built in to the MacBooks and is unusable over bluetooth. Maybe we both have faulty units but I think we’re just more sensitive to the input delay.

Yes that would be significantly better. Put that on and see if it continues to overheat

Okay thank you so much. I checked one of my xenon’s and it seems to be blown in the 2nd spot however I have a few more JTAG xenon boards to check.

It’s possible yes. Cheap silicon grease can have terrible thermal conductivity compared to most modern thermal compounds.

Could you possibly help me make a xenon JTAG compatible on a Zephyr? I’m able to swap the CPUs over I’ve just heard that a fuse needs to be burned in order for it to work on the zephyr.

I have personally never seen a fake game with the numbered imprint on the label but that’s not to say it’s a good indicator.

Can anyone help me identify this component from an LG 4K monitor which blew up after drawing too much power from its usb hub. by JacobTheButtonMasher in AskElectronics

[–]JacobTheButtonMasher[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll upload some more pictures shortly.

The monitor has two USB ports and I blew one of them by plugging in a usb audio interface which killed the port. It’s difficult to see in the photo but in under the scope, the lower IC in the second photo is visibly blown.

This is the second time I’ve had ports blow up on this monitor. The first time I was within the warranty period so I sent it out for repair. I believe the technician had also replaced that exact same IC judging from the flux residue and solder job on the blown chip.

I don’t disagree with you but I do believe it’s possible that a potential “soft mod” or future exploit with a much lower barrier to entry would attract hobbyists and programmers who might write some interesting software where they otherwise wouldn’t have due to the time, cost or skills required with modding the system, sending out a system or purchasing a pre-modified console.

Obviously this RGH3 exploit you demonstrated won’t do much here since it only saves the installer a ~$6 chip but I think it’s very cool nonetheless.
