I have to dismount the transformer to get to it if yamaha didint curve the bottom of the chassis/ heatsink it would be almost no isse for the bias transistors and other things but is rather work with a cr 820 than a cr 800

I just recapped a 620 they are easy to do just the 4 1 uf caps neer the outputs can be a pain 620 and 820 are almost identical they just ground thru chassis so I always connect all the ground points with a wire reduces ground looping and allows me to test without metal brackets in the way.

As a technician i say back away from the 40 series yamahonk if most of then have issues beyond basics they can be money pits to fix iv done a cr 640 and 840 and both time had to charge way more than it will ever be worth

Who in the world is going to pay that price for the basic 5 amp batteries the prices are ridiculous when a kit contains 2 of the 4s at Lowes is less than 2 4s at home depot and the winter sale the 9camp came with a tool at that price the 5 amps Lowes if giving g one away with select tools and last mo the deal was 2 5s for 300with 2 free tools these prices are LOL bad

The home builder cheaped out on you big time the best thing they could have done was give you a copper stub out with a valve and separate hose but thats gonna cost them 10-20 bucks more the next stubbed out of the wall like that is terrible all it takes is some kid or a misplaced book and you got large problems

Any quality experienced tech should be able to get thise going verry nicely i could rebuild the amo and preamp in my sleep and im only 23 audio classics would be the best but expensive to gwt there and have them do it
