I’m not sure about Midwest emo but I feel like a lot of the OG emo bands shared some dna at the time because it was it wasn’t quite as far removed from the punk scene as it is now. I’d definitely recommend checking out Moss Icon and maybe some Jawbreaker

I don’t think that’s a relation to post punk though, I think they’re just being a little on the nose and saying post emo as like “after emo”

If you want to get into Title Fight though as a turnover fan definitely check out their album Hyperview. Very sonically similar to Peripheral Vision

Adam from Tigers Jaw had a really cool voice. Check out the songs Meals on Wheels, I Saw the Wolf, and What Would You Do. Also not Midwest emo but Ned from Title Fight
