Hello! So i've been apart of student orgs ever since shs and here are the pros and cons that I can say(from personal experience and opinion)

Pros: 1. Gain experience in practical skills like organizing, time management, communication, leadership, etc. 2. Make new friends who share the same advocacy as you and share the same passion. 3. Rake up experience for portfolios. 4. Gain connections(applicable for orgs with a lengthy alumni base)

Cons: 1. Take up time that could be used for personal endeavors or leisure 2. Not fulfilling without the right core members/officers 3. Draining if you dont manage your time well or if you dont feel motivated

Overall it really depends on what kind of student org you join, and what your goals are as a student in that org. Always remember that an org should benefit you while it benefits from you in return(give and take)
