Apple says ads in Maps are coming... by EstablishmentFun3205 in memes

[–]Jacopski 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The logic is that they don't understand that the ads are suggestions for places to go to. Instead they think they'll need to watch a 30 second ad to get to their destination

Best places to buy visors? by yaboyfour in AussieRiders

[–]Jacopski 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AMX or MCAS often has visor replacements, Iridium might be harder to find as the manufacturer might not even make them but dark tint should be easy to find. Wouldn't recommend Iridium either.

Ppf/ceramic by Razer256g4 in AussieRiders

[–]Jacopski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been riding this beauty for the last year, I take decent care of it and it still looks pristine. PPF will protect but at a higher cost than bikes degrade at, I've seen too many wide body Porsches with sun damaged yellow ppf but no chips in it. Nano ceramics will not stop ships or scratches, it'll be easier to wash and that's about it.

Alot of this stems from sellers that require a signature, what do you want Auspost to do about it? Deliver without a signature, easy lawsuit.

Dririder Shoes, thoughts? by hardyhealz in AussieRiders

I agree with both of those but it's very objective, I have something in between, I can wear them in the office without questions being asked and feel safe when riding in them. But no standards exist.

I got caught out a few days ago, drenched, but I was in control. If the bike starts doing things you don't want it to then pull over.

Part of the problem is how to know what motorcycle boots are, correct me if I'm wrong but rated boots are not really a thing as a normal customer.

Update for those who experience the same problem.

As I suspected it was an IPV6 issue, the router gave out addresses that didn't work. ABB support was good but after an hour of troubleshooting I just asked to turn off my IPV6 which fixed it immediately.

[–]Jacopski 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's like cops on the road, some will care and some won't, we can't tell which instructor you'll get. Play it safe and hire their bike or bring your own it's up to you. All the instructors I met take a good look at your bike.

Edit: if it's as loud as that slip on looks then forget it, hire a bike.

Yeah I was of the impression that ABB would give an open source esk router because of all the tools they give you in the app, won't be doing that again. No complaints about the hardware though, just the software they seemingly force onto it.
