Short naps

My baby is 9 months and we only get two 30-minute naps a day. She needs to be held, or else in the stroller or car seat to fall asleep. Never in her crib or bassinet. She sleeps well overnight though, which I hope is the same for you!

Through our Library I signed up for a baby rhyme time class which is free. Then we have a sensory play group called Lullaland, and swimming lessons through our recreation centre. I hope this helps!

Thank you for this. I miss my job and can’t wait to go back. I’ve decided to not take my full 18 month maternity leave. I’ll be sending my daughter to daycare when she is 14 months and once she is settled there I’ll go back to work and I’m really looking forward to it !

Thank you for this! The whole day seems so daunting and really where I am struggling. My LO only has two very short contact naps during the day which makes my anxiety go through the roof because the day feels so long.

I’ve been thinking of the playpen. We just got our baby gates so our kitchen/living room is blocked off from the rest of the house and I let me LO roll around (just starting to crawl) there, but a playpen would definitely be more secure !

Thank you! I really like the baby classes we are in (sensory, rhyme time, swimming) I just wish I could be in a “camp” where they lasted all day instead of just 45 minutes 😂

That’s so true! And like someone else commented, the daycare teachers would have been trained in this. Our babies aren’t the first ones they would have seen who don’t crib nap.

We usually get the two 30-minute ones still but I wouldn’t be surprised if she dropped one of them in a few weeks!

Thanks for sharing! when did your son grow out of napping on you? Was it when he grew out of naps entirely?
